Title: great budget spotter - Konus
Post by: ren on November 27, 2022, 11:44:34 AM
Been several years since I sold my Kowa. Great glass but I broke it a few times and all times Kowa fixed it - no charge.
Got a Konus since and its been pretty good. Can't complain. More than enough at Kokohead. Great price below.

Do you have a Konus?

I almost bought a Kowa with 20-60 eye piece combo I saw on a Black Friday sale.  Still might in the future if I get back started shooting longer ranges.

I'm working on Konus number 3. The rules for keeping your Konus working good for years. 1. Watch out for windy conditions. They will not survive a fall onto the Kokohead asphalt. 2. Don't lend it to buddy's that don't know how to adjust a scope and force knobs and eye pieces and don't watch for windy conditions.

Yes. I have an earlier Konus 80mm. It's 7 years old now and works fine.

I currently use a Celestron Ultima that I got a great deal on a Black Friday sale a long time ago.  Needed one after the Bushnell I was using started to degrade.  It's a similar price ranges as the Konus model you posted.  I haven't dropped it, but it's held up after getting banged around quite a bit on trips over bumpy trails to get to the shooting spots.
