Post by: imanley on November 30, 2012, 08:10:53 PM
Hi, I was wondering what your guys opinions are of their stripped lowers? Anyone have any problems registering them? Thanks.

Good stuff, what sort of registration problems?

I vaguely remember looking them up before I moved back to the islands, and someone said (not on here) that they had some problems due to there having three options where the selector is. Wasn't sure if there was any truth to it or not.

The bullet pictogram or selector markings are just for decoration. Shouldn't be a problem. The guys behind the window laughed when they saw the markings on my zombie lower.

I have several Spike's lower, one of which is the Pirate lower.  No problems registering as a multi-caliber.

I found what I saw years ago it was in the AR-15 forum, here's a the quote:

"I did end up getting the spikes lower with no trouble but it took the police 2 weeks to look at it to make sure it was not auto. They did release it though so... it might be good to let whoever FFL is going to recieve it what it is so they don't freak out and turn it into the police station right away."

Probably just a one off incident.

As long as there's no 1/8" hole above the safety selector, you're good.  The "third hole" is the easiest way to recognize a machinegun vs. semi-auto lower.
