Learned that FEMA is using the Maui range as a dumping ground for Lahaina toxic waste. Guess cause it's already contaminated with lead. Expected to close the range for 3 to 5 months.

gonna be longer than that...

I said probably a year, then someone said nah FEMA said it'll just be 3 to 5 months.

The report said these hazardous waste will be stored for weeks or several months and then eventually shipped to the mainland.
Interesting to know what they plan to do with it on the mainland. Who are the lucky recipients.

Don't forget the properly labeled rubbish cans FEMA.

When things are burnt to a crisp, how do they recover these materials? Are they just digging the top later of debris and dirt?
I am guessing they have areas in the Mainland so remote they can dump these types of materials.

Seriously, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the whole shipment of hazardous waste mysteriously slipped into the middle of the Pacific Ocean on it's way to the mainland.
Oops. Damn..... coulda swear we tied those ropes correctly and double checked them before we left the dock.......

They have places in the mainland that can process hazardous material. I dunno how it's processed. Same with other stuff like lead and lithium batteries, shooting range filters, etc. Not worth it to setup a plant here.
Tho it's cheaper to ship it to China and have them deal with it however they want.

Replace the word months with years, then when they revise their estimate to include the word year, replace that with forevers. Welcome to the government.

Yes they could claim that all of the hazardous waste was lost in a boating accident.

Yeah, save money cause what they doing now is lose money........

When all the hazard waste has been removed from the range the so called “officials an experts” will declare the range is too polluted and will close it until further notice. :grrr:
