Lately haven’t been training much.  When I do train, it’s mostly handgun dry fire, primarily USPSA with some concealed carry/defensive thrown in.  When the action bays were open, I’d occasionally practice a little live fire after matches, if there was time.

So, short answer is “nothing really planned or effective,” LOL.

I love to shoot pistol. Currently, the only thing I can do is shoot at a 25 yd bullseye. So I slow fire to keep my basic marksmanship skill. But I also do semi rapid fire. For a 25 yd target, I try to deliver 1 shot per second and keep the hits in the black bull. This is using near full power 45 acp ammo in a non compensated iron sight government model. If you can do that on demand, you are in pretty good shape.

For the dog, I use costco chicken and a shock collar.

I haven't, lately. :(

I was thinking of going to KHSC but changed my mind and will do some dry fire practice and basic fundamentals at home before I venture out and attempt to get on paper at 25 yds. at the pistol range.

Haven't shot pistol for over a year and rifle longer than that.

He's a damn beast. Not only strong, but has good agility for a guy his size and strength.

Yup, my joints are hurting more and more as the weeks go. But at least the back and neck are fine. So could be worst.

Not sure if OP also meant physical trainging, but for HDF skill builders, some events requires cardio. And it's not uncommon to even see fit looking guys huffing and puffing after.

The nice thing about surfing is the better shape you are in the more fun it is, and that makes a mandatory minimum level of participation necessary.

It doesn't help me with mag fumbles or neglected fundamentals though.

Yeah, after I retired I went back to weight lifting.  But I old and my body broke.  All from work.  Both shoulders get rotator cuff tears.  Back get sprained disk.  Both knees nomo cartilage already. Bone rubbing on bone.  Real sore at times.

But I lift.  Not like before but at least I try.  Reason I Iift is to maintain strength and keep from getting too soft.  I don't take any supplements or anything.  But I am trying to eat healthier.  Not trying to make big body.  Just for health.

I also do cardio.  Because I get hard time with my knees I have an elliptical machine.  Easier on the knees.  Better than walking or running.

I also installed a pull up/chin up bar in my garage and I have a free standing punching bag stand with a body bag on one side and a speed bag on the other.

As far as firearms like I mentioned earlier, just dry firing and holster work.  I don't even go to the range anymore.

Dry fire to keep trigger memory.
DA S&W 357 mag Police gun.

22 Cal air rifle at yardage on noisy birds that never stop moving.
I don't pay much attention to grouping, just kills on things that move a lot.

When I dont dry fire which is hardly now because of school. I train in the gym. Wanting to compete in USPSA my leg days have turned into movements mainly feet (i dont hold my hands up in the extended position like i am shooting) that would translate into acceleration/decceleration. And a few specific movements for grip and draw speed.

been using my SCATT more. Better feedback then just dumping rounds onto a target.

How would she handle a 308, 30.06 .338 or a .50?
or even a 5.56?
Two major purposes for guns
#1 protect yourself and family.
#2 put food on the table.

There is a mental disconnect with knowing there is no recoil to a gun having one.  When I dry fire, 100% of the time, zero flinch. But when shooting for real, the flinch comes.  I would assume the same for air pistols with no recoil as well.

My DARE officer told us a story of 1 of his class mates. During dry fire, she was perfect. She has never shot a gun before. Then when they went to the range, she got a bullseye with her first shot because she did everything what she was taught to do.  But all shots after that she was all over the target.  The recoil bother her so much that she quit the academy later that day.

This is common.
I help out newbie pistol folks as often as I can, and I actually expect newbie shooters to flinch.
Over the past 2 weeks, I helped out 2 nice fellows just starting out.
After I observed the telltale signs of flinch, I took them off the firing line and used Jedi mind control techniques to eliminate the flinch.
One student caught on in a few minutes. The other one...not so much. But I had more tricks up my sleeve.

I've offered free marksmanship coaching on this forum in the past, and now that the pandemic has subsided and we have new rules to keep us safe from evil cardboard boxes,
it's time to offer the free marksmanship coaching again.

So if you are a beginner that has a hard time hitting the target, just contact me.
I might even be able to provide some ammo for training at little or no cost because I have some generous friends that know about these free marksmanship lessons.
