1/22/24 - Edited to add:
It looks like Palmetto will still ship to guns/lowers to FFL’s in Hawai’i. I guess anything else has to be freight forwarded….
Is it reasonable…. like under $200? I want to buy several complete lowers, several complete uppers and several lower kits (stock, buffer, tube, spring and lpk)
Worse case is I’ll have a relative on the mainland buy it and they drop off when they visit…..or I get it from them when I visit
I’ll try ask Jen at Kaleo Arms too for guidance and leads.
Dang. I really like PSA. I can’t always afford the top tier stuff like BCM when it is mainly just a range toy.

watch out for "straw purchase" on your friend/relative.
I think Kaleo Arms has a North Dakota FFL. They might be able to purchase, and then ship/transfer to a local Hawaii FFL.
If you had to return it to PSA for whatever, that would be tricky.
you're paying for additional S&H and FFL fees that way, though.

Thanks for the warning. I didn’t realize that the FF is actually taking possession. I was thinking they were like FedEx and don’t need a FFL. I guess it will be only uppers and kits to complete lowers….but no lowers.
If I use family, just parts. No lowers
Thanks!

The ATF has made the shipping companies paranoid about accepting firearm packages from anyone who isn't an FFL. So, when you need to send a gun to the manufacturer for service, FedEx and UPS will require an FFL do the shipping. You need to get a label from the manufacturer so the shippers will take it. That, or go to a local FFL and have them handle it for you (and pay a fee).
The whole interstate firearm transfer process is messed up, and they are making it worse as they try to plug some of the holes in the system.

Thanks Flapp!
Anyone that is interested,
My friend uses Hawaii Air Cargo and they have a calculator you can use to get an estimate
But he said having relative on the mainland would be a bit cheaper since no labor/profit…..just bring them manapua and macnuts when you visit them

The only holes in the system is the space between the ears of the BATFE!

I tried to order a lower from Palmetto and that is ok. Looks like Non FFL stuff has to be freight forwarded
