Title: FFL transfer question
Post by: nalo_b on March 21, 2024, 11:35:51 AM
If I find a rifle on another island from a private seller and use an ffl there to ship it to an ffl on Oahu can I register the firearm online or will they see it as a private sale and have to register in person?

A) Do you have an FFL here that will handle the transfer for you?  If so, they should be able to answer your questions.

B) If you haven't lined up an FFL here, that's the first thing to do. Then follow up on your questions.

good luck!

If your FFL is doing it the right way, they’ll register the firearm to themselves first to do the transfer, at which point you getting the firearm from your dealer is considered a dealer transaction which can be registered online.

That's what I was hoping. Gonna be working outer island and might not have a chance to make the 5 day registration or whatever it is. But thought about the ffl thing n being able to do it online instead of in person.

No ffl yet. I used an ffl twice before but decided on finding another from now on. Gonna check around for a new one

Does the new law only affect private  transactions?
