As for confiscation and mandatory buy-back of weapons by the government, this was tried by Australia in 2011, and the results are dismal.
Since Australia’s gun ban, armed robberies jumped 68 percent, assaults with guns rose 28 percent, gun murders are up 19 percent and home invasions increased 21 percent.

Unlike the voluntary buybacks in the United States, Australian gun buybacks of 1996 and 2003 were compulsory, compensated surrenders of newly-illegal firearms.

The 1996 Buyback took 600,000 newly illegal sporting firearms, including all semi-automatic rifles including .22 rimfires, semi-automatic shotguns and pump-action shotguns. Because the Australian Constitution prevents the taking of property without just compensation the Federal Government decided to put a 1% levy on income tax for one year to finance the compensation. The buyback was predicted to cost A$500 million and had wide community support.[5]

The 2003 handgun buyback compensated the confiscation of about 50,000 newly illegal pistols, the majority being target arms of greater than 9mm calibre (generally used for IPSC competition), or smaller handguns with barrels less than 4" such as pocket pistols, which were mostly licensed for target use as since 1996 licenses cannot be issued for self-defense in Australia

We are headed for this. Same story as GB and Aus. Criminals will have free reign. I even heard so called 'conservative' radio today talking about the necessity of ar type rifles and carbines. I almost shit myself! The hosts sounded like liberal gun grabbers! I thought they took over the radio station or something. Their talking points were idiotic and very uninformed, just like your typical scared sheep liberal.

Yep,  no need for the tin foil.  This shit might just be happening right before our eyes.

read them for my entertainment.  what a joke.  the greenewave article is just them saying that a confiscation begins on January 1st, and then as "evidence", he puts a transcript of a speech that never mentions confiscation, a video of the speech, and some screaming nitwit with no evidence.

the bizpac article references a 2011 Australian gun buy back that doesnt exist while ignoring the eralier, actual buy backs, while quoting the NY governor, who ISNT a part of congress and thus has little to no influence on national policy, suggesting anything from a confiscation, to permits, which are far likelier.

and the first is just a video from Alex Jones.  nuff said.

to quote it.

I didnt even read the articles.  I have just been observing what has been going on in all media outlets. Nothing but brainwashing and misinformation.  Prep for what is to come.  All they need is that 51% support, or perceived majority in any case. And they are getting it too.

This is what I'm worried about.  I'll tell you this, though: I swear to God I'll never turn in my guns, and I will not hesitate to forcefully resist anyone who comes for them.  I don't think I'm the only one, either.

the house has a majority republicans.  the dems would not only need to hold onto all of theirs (will be hard), but also change 23 Republican minds.  its not gonna pass.

beyond that, the senate doesnt have a supermajority.  they can be filibustered.

also note, we wont be seeing anything really til the end of January at the earliest.  the furor is already dieing down.  come legislative time, they're not going to have the kind of support they do now.

The Repubs are weak minded. They lost the election because of their lack of values and their abandon of them. They believed the media complex when they said the teaparty movement was bad news for them.  They forgot to relilize that America wanted a real change, the reason why they won the house. They will cave to appease the masses and try secure their re-elections.  Which they wont be able to achieve anyway. They don't have the balls to stand up to the messiah.

no one's going to remember this come re election.

and yes, the tea party movement was bad for them. it was too extreme and had no hope of attracting to moderate voters you need to win an election.  Obama won because he convinced people he could work across the aisle.  a lie, but it worked.  the tea party is too extreme for the middle voters.

Romney did win moderate voters. He didnt win the election. Why? Because he was Obama light. I voted for him, not cause he was the best choice, but because he was the only alternative.  Tea party swept the house in 2010 because people where tired of the status quo.  Romney lost because he represnted the same old same old.  Not what America wanted.  The only reason the teaparty is 'extreme' , as you put it, is because the bull shit media made them out, falsely, to be so.  People dont want 'reaching across the aisle',a other media spin in my veiw, people want solutions and change to the corruption.  How else would they have won in 2010?

he did not win that many moderate voters, dude.  you dont get hammered like that in the election if you won over moderates.

and they are extreme.  when you look a the political spectrum that exists in congress, they're the farthest right.  the extreme.  who's more conservative than them?  no one.  hence, they are the extreme.

There's a lot being floated around the internet today about this. But there doesn't seem to be much clout concerning confiscation. As what is already known, there are 120 specifically named firearms which will be totally banned, a reinstatement of the 1994 AWB with revisions and the grandfathering  of all firearms owned by individuals that fall under the 120 gun ban list. If you legally own one, you will be required by the BATF to perform a background check, register into a national/federal database with photo and fingerprint.

The media is running a full-court press on this, but the prospects for an assault weapons ban are pretty remote if you break down the stats.  Here's an article from The New Yorker (http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/newsdesk/2012/12/can-gun-control-make-it-through-congress.html?mobify=0) (that paragon of pro-gun literature) that gets into the nitty-gritty of whether or not a ban could make it through Congress.

As an aside, although the voters of Montana have repeatedly sent Democrats to the House and Senate, our Democrats ain't like most Democrats, and Baucus and Tester will not support a ban if they value their political careers.  That's pretty clear in the article, which makes me proud to claim God's Country as home.

Guy's, I think that the website put on about this subject is a bit of a stretch. I dont believe that confiscation is that close. However I do believe that an attempt WILL be made at some time. This close to the tragedy in Sandy Hook??? I dont see that. But I do believe that these bozo's WILL test the waters first. Look at the resistance, then put a plan in place up to and including Obama's civilian army corp. This WILL be a tough thing to pass. By executive order or not. Talk about a civil war??? Either way, be ready. As for those who say NO WAY NOT MY GUNS!!! If you have NEVER had live bullets grazing your A$$....trust me on this, it will be hard on you and your families. You may not be ready psychologically, let alone physically. We will be out numbered and out gunned. DO NOT LOOK FOR HELP FROM OUR CIVILIAN POPULATION !!! They will NOT help you.Have a plan in place for your loved ones. These people will play un-fair and illegal. The new law allowing americans to be held indefinitely without representation was passed for a reason. If caught, which we will....our families may never see us again unless we give up others in our stead. Media will villafy us, friends will turn us in for the reward or for just a break on a DUI. Think I'm kidding? I see it all the time in cell block. Not for a break...just to be released till next court date. They will turn their Ma Ma's in for a dollar. I'm sorry its come to this guys. But I am on your side. I am having discussions with my wife WHEN it happens. You see for me... there is nothing worth anything if I cannot have my freedom. There is no freedom without a gun to enforce it seriously. Without our firearms?????? The Govt. can and will do ANYTHING it wants. God Bless the USA...we're gonna need it. As for the article??????? Just be ready.Pray for the best, prepare for the worst. I hope at least one of you knuckleheads has a cell next to mine.

I dont think any of those sites are very reliable. But it is surprising that people need to look to fringe sites to be told what to think. Those places are for weak minds wanting to be spoon fed information that 'fits'. I'm not saying stick with the mainstream press, just that anyone in the US can read what laws are being considered and should come up with their own opinion or ideas.

Avoid places that want to incite panic.  Because people panicking over rumors and misinformation are too distracted with the 'what if' to see the relevant and real. Also arguing petty points of view dont help either. Its no surprise that things are the way they are.

Just my 2 cents

Really? They don't? It actually does...a quick example: Roosevelt - EO9066 (Only took 46 years to "fix"). One just has to examine the 20000+ orders issued by Presidents over the years. Implementing policy in times of "national crisis" or on grounds of public safety and security, has become the norm.

...Some will cry it's "unconstitutional and illegal", sure okay...that doesn't change the fact that an EO is law until challenged and overturned. So what does that mean? They take away your property then in 5,10 or even 50 years give you a letter of apology pay you a small percentage of the value?? I'm not saying it will happen, but failing to accept that it can is just plain ignorance.

Hmmm for once, I actually agree with your craziness.  Obama - EO13528 should concern anyone who is stupid enough to call for civil war.  The civilian population is simply not equipped to challenge the forces that can be deployed.

Sounds to me like a perfect set up for an EO.

Roosevelt's Order was based on National Security concerns...Italian and German Americans were also subject to internment.

Clearly you are totally missing the point here and claiming that an Executive Order can't/won't happen is simply a blind view. Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution has granted the President the power to issue orders since ratification.  And regardless of how many orders are recinded/overruled in court, that part of the Constitution HAS NOT been amendend and remains in place.

Honestly is amazes me how people, who vehemently fight for and support the 2nd Amendment, find it so easy to outright ignore the rest of the U.S. Constitution when it suits them.

They don't have to paint us as crazy or racist.  The simple claim of "National Security", is all thats necessary. Just think of how many times those words come up in press conferences and hearings.

This has nothing to do with tin-foil hats. Just the reality of the situation. Every statement by the anti-gun groups and politicians is laying the ground work for action. All while pro-2A folk argue semantics and hypotheticals.

im not ignoring anything.  the executive order can also not be used to flat out create a new law.  its there to clarify.  last i checked, we dont have any confiscation laws on the books, so it would be pretty hard for him to make an executive order such that confiscation would be considered a clarification.

Just to add my two cents...Obama is somewhat arrogant. Just take Obama Care as an example...I believe 26 states opposed and sued and it didn't phase him. He is more than willing to leave it in the courts hands. Nothing seems sacred anymore. Just saying...I don't trust what or what he is not capable of doing these days, whether it appears legal or not on the surface.

i'd be more worried if he had more support, but a slim majority in the senate and a rather disadvantaged minority in the house, plus barely half the public isnt going to let him get away with that.  its just not going to fly with the house we have, nor with the courts, so long as we dont have any unfortunate deaths.

Not sure why you insist on interpreting to suit your view of things...Maybe you're mistaking policy directives or proclimations? Whatever it might be, a Presidential Executive Order does not require precedent, nor does it have anything to do with clarification of existing law. It's a simple fact: An Executive Order, once issued and entered/published in the Federal Register, IS LAW and remains in full effect until it expires, is revoked, altered, or vacated by Supreme Court ruling.

I acknowledge my focus of study was not Constitutional law and it's been a few years since I cracked open a text book, BUT I'm fairly certain my knowledge and grasp of the matter is slightly better than what you might Google. Feel free to continue believing what you want.

Colt808, glad you and I agree on something. BY the way, I'm not THAT crazy.???? Am I ??? :) Seriously I am not an educated man or woman such as you and I will take any advice you give me, spit out all the bones and use what I need. But I can only base my opinion on what I see and read and hear. My lack of education outside of high school is no help Colt808 But, hey, I am still teachable at 56. FYI...NOT ONE single police officer I have spoken too agrees with any more restrictions on guns. Hawaii has gone far enough and the law enacted has done NO significant change in crime except to give punk a$$ cops who shouldnt be cops anyway , leverage to harass law abiding citizens and those young people who will stumble while maturing after turning 18. There are times when being young and making mistakes that a cop could do more good for his or her community by a stern lecture, a kind word, or simply verbally kicking them in their A$$. But NOOOOOOOO arrest and make them felons????? I just dont get the methos to the madness. The same rule or yard stick doesnt appear to apply to these few individual officers. Too bad. Anyway I'm off subject. Hey, Colt808, feel free to educate me on stuff you think where I am going too much left or right. I sure could use it. O.K. ? Thanks man.

no, executive orders are not supposed to just create new laws. whether presidents do that is a different matter.  but it still needs congressional approval either before or after the fact, and since Barry doesnt exactly have undeniable support in congress, i really dont think he's going to try something like that.  ever.

he might be anti gun, he might be a political snake, he might be dishonest and he might be a bad president. but what he is not is totally retarded. i dsont trust him, but i also would never expect an executive order of that nature simply because the house would turn on him, and i think more than a few anti gun democrats in congress would too, just because of the magnitude of his transgressions in overstepping his lawful powers.

he cant get away with an executive order like that, which is clearly illegal.  i cant see either the house or the senate being cool with that.

I, for one, am approaching this from a very cautious point of view.  I think there are things at work that, at their very core, are very sinister.  Whether you believe the "conspiracy theories" or not, I wouldn't put all my faith in our congressional leaders choosing to do the right thing.  Think about it.

Take Sandy Hook as the latest example.  Listen to what the (government controlled) mainstream media is saying.  Look at some of the facts.  How quick did the MSM jump on the political bandwagon to misinform the public and sway public opinion with emotion to believe something happened that didn't really happen (i.e. a "Bushmaster Assault Rifle" was used in the killing!)?  Why aren't they even reporting on who the other individuals involved in the shooting are?  Stinks.  Look at the Aurora Theatre shooting.  Tell me, please, how this 23 year old had enough time to plan this entire event while attending Med School FULL-TIME, the tactical experience to fully enact his plan to the tee and use all his equipment proficiently, the money to spend on what is considered Military/LE grade gear (and don't tell me student loans/grants.  It's impossible for this guy to pay for everything he needed for school on top of the amount of firearms, ammunition and tactical gear, on student loans and grants by themselves, let alone rent an apartment at the same time.), learn how to properly rig his apartment to the point where it took the PROFESSIONALS hours to disarm it, all the while attending med school and receiving top marks in his classes?  Stinks.  Bad.

Fiscal Cliff.  Both sides, pointing fingers at each other.  Oh no!  We're going over the Fiscal Cliff!  All just a charade.  If they do nothing, they all get what they want.  Higher taxes on everyone, superficial spending cuts, a broken economy and a currency on the brink of collapse with a populace that hates what conservatism is all about.  What better scenario to have when it comes time to pull the ban hammer on whatever it is that they want to ban.  The people will fall in line with everything, rank and file.

Read THIS (http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/insider-report-dhs-was-created-to-to-fight-americans-not-protect-them_12282012).  Whether you believe this kind of thing from "fringe" websites, or not.  Or if you believe in "conspiracy theories," or not, at least take the time to read it.  Consider it.

All of you here pounding the table, saying, "It will never happen!  You're all a bunch of crazies!" are reacting exactly as they would like you to react.  "Oh, this kind of crap is just what these sites do!  Incite fear and panic in the idiots who believe it!"  Go ahead and think that if you want.  All I'm asking is for you to read it, read it carefully, then ask yourself, "Do I truly think that this is beyond the scope of government?  Do I think that the Global Elites are or aren't capable of doing this?"  There's nothing wrong with thinking that this type of thing will never happen.  But there's also nothing wrong with being prepared in case it does.  Are people crazy for preparing for a hurricane?  How many seasons have passed without one occurring?  Yet many people restock and resupply every year.  Are they crazy for wanting to be prepared for an even that may never happen?

Look.  I enjoy watching the market.  I'm not claiming to be some big time trader.  I'm not even a small time trader.  I just pay attention.  But there are things going on that normal people either don't care about, or don't care to inform themselves about.  What's the saying?  It's the economy stupid!  Well, it is.  The writing is on the wall.  Something big is coming.  The derivatives market is immensely over-leveraged (by hundreds of TRILLIONS of dollars), the bond market is ready to burst, metals are being manipulated so blatantly and obviously, but no one does anything about it.  Interest rates are being manipulated, the Fed is one of the only central banks buying treasuries any more (which in and of itself is just sad).  Obama and The Bernanke can't stop easing the market and killing our currency.  The market in and of itself is fraudulent.  HFT is the norm.  It's no longer a "free market" but one that is totally controlled and manipulated by the government.  Consumption doesn't even exist anymore.  Fraud is rewarded with bailouts and the taxpayer gets stuck with the bill.  Oh, housing is up?  Compared to pre-2007, we're still depressed.  Big time.  And just what did it take to turn the housing free-fall into a housing flat-line?  LSAP, easing, twist and credit-market fraud.  And all we can do is flat-line.  The United States has an artificial economy, created and maintained by the federal government, and you don't think they could pull a "conspiracy theory" on the people?

Remember, the Constitution means nothing for those who don't believe in it.  When you have Supreme Court Justices on the Left-side of the aisle (remember, our "conservative" justice recently pulled a Benedict Arnold on us...Yeah...Conservative my @$$) trashing everything that the Constitution & Bill of Rights stand for, all it becomes is a meaningless piece of paper.  What good is having 3 parts to government if all 3 think and act alike?  Keep believing that the government has your best interests in mind.  Keep thinking that they'll always be there for you and this type of thing is beyond the scope of anything ever done in the history of the United States.  But when the rug gets pulled out from under you, and you look around and ask, "How could they ever do this to us?" don't say you haven't been warned.

You're wrong. Exectutive orders do not need the support or approval because it completely bypasses congress. Its one of the reasons people hate the concept and I'm not sure why that is being argued.

Colt really doesnt need someone coming to his defense.  Anyone who knows him would say he is pretty low key and is probably down playing his knowledge. But he did graduate from Stanford Law so he knows what he is talking about. Why he decided stay in the Army instead of practice law is the real mystery.

I do my best to please.  At the very least, I'm glad you found it "interesting."

In all honesty, it wasn't meant to convince anyone of anything.  But to invoke thought of what may be (or what may not be).

O.K. ? Thanks man.
Pastor Dennis
You're fine...Honesty and common sense trumps education any day. The crazy part was in reference to some of your past posts. You know things that don't normally come from a Pastor? That aside, I do agree that some youth offenders should have alternatives that don't result in a lifetime label of "felon".  I believe a lot of judges in Hawaii consider past history and other factors before passing sentence. Yes, it's no different than what they do for adults, but in most cases equal application of law should apply. For the simple dumbassed kid stuff? An alternative punishment like youth boot camp, community/roadside clean up, and "scared straight" programs would do a lot more than a detention home or permanent record. Hell, anything that's REAL punishment for a kid would work.

I was going to respond to xer, but since you've pretty much nailed it...

And I don't know what you mean by mystery. The certificates hanging in my office mean little and are about as important as awards for participation (to me). But to be part of 5 generations to serve? NOW that's something.
