The was an article posted over at the ultra-liberal Daily Kos the other day entitled Why liberals should love the Second Amendment (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/7/4/881431/-Why-liberals-should-love-the-Second-Amendment).
It is rather interesting to see a liberal reaching out to other liberals on the Second Amendment. This article seems to take more of a libertarian approach than the classic liberal view. I like it.
Liberals can quote legal precedent, news reports, and exhaustive studies. They can talk about the intentions of the Founders. They can argue at length against the tyranny of the government. And they will, almost without exception, conclude the necessity of respecting, and not restricting, civil liberties.
Except for one: the right to keep and bear arms.
I hope this type of writing can help influence self proclaimed "liberals" into protecting all the rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.

Very interesting and she is spot on. Why do most ( not all ) Liberals stand up for the Constitution except that 2nd amenment? I gues in their mind gun violence takes precedent over a right?
