In the next few days a bill seperate of Feinstien's AWB bill will be brought up in the House of Representatives to limit magazine capacities to 10 rounds or less.It follows the same template of Feinstien's bill where grandfathering will be allowed but future transfer will be illegal. Right now this bill is kinda of flying under the radar while the AWB is getting all the press. What we all need to understand is that this magazine ban is a stand alone bill. The gun grabbers are trying to sneak this by on use by dividing our attention. They are banking on the fact that we will let our guard down in the House because it is a Republican majority. Although the House is a Republican majority, it is not a lock. What we can do write the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, and pressuring him not hear the bill out on the House floor in essence squashing the ban attempt. Below is a link where you can write the Speaker of the House. Please take the time to make your point.

thanks for the heads up.

Sneaky faka ah that old bag!!

Thanks...Always worth the effort to write to our congressman to voice our concern, in this case the speaker. When they get large numbers of the same concern, they do listen. Problem may be with this standalone mag restriction bill is it may be hard to quash something that the majority of the population agrees on. The easy argument by the opposition could be why does anyone need more than 10rds in one mag at any given time, even the AR/AK guys. That is a hard point to defeat unless it does get quashed and doesn't reach the floor for debate and scrutiny, so writing now is important.

My thinking for a while now has been that Leatherface is running interference for Pelosi's magazine ban. Leatherface's AWB won't pass Congress, and wouldn't pass Constitutional muster if it did, but Pelosi's bill is downright insidious because it legitimately could pass.
-
Here is a link to an article. Interesting that they believe that limiting the amount of ammunition in one mag will stop the carnage. Have they heard of reloading?

You may be right...maybe the republicans would agree to a mag ban and maybe something that addresses mental health, closing loopholes with gun shows, stricter background checks, etc, if they drop the gun ban notion. Afterall, Boehner seems to be doing nothing but compromising and making deals these days. Only time will tell.

DeGette told The Huffington Post two weeks ago. "What I am interested in is making it as difficult as possible for that deranged person to shoot as many people as possible."
then stop fucking around with guns and actually fix the problem.
-
DeGette intro'd one already. Sorry haven't read that article, Huffington is normally left and anti-gun. I'd be interested in laws at the state level. Anyone remember that ludicrous "spinner" wheels law that was trying to make its way?

Here's why compromise is bullshit for gun owners. It's never a compromise. We start from where we are now, and they propose some draconian crap, and if "compromise", we move toward disarmament. I'd be all for "compromise", if it started with the Democrats saying, "We want to ban assault weapons" and the Republicans saying, "We want to repeal the Gun Free School Zones Act". But that's never the case, is it? We compromised and gave up our silencers, full-autos, etc back in 1934. Then we compromised some more in 1968. In 1994 we compromised again with an Assault Weapons Ban, which was mercifully repealed. Let's start our "compromise" from the position of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!" /rant

I'm currently looking for mags for my mossberg 22 tactical. It's a 25 round mag and i got one off amazon about 2 months ago but cant find anymore. I found some on gunbroker(really expensive) but they wont ship to hawaii. Is it illegal in hawaii? the mossberg 22 is an AR style rifle.

most gunbroker people wont ship anything over 10 rounds to hawaii because of our 10 round pistol mag laws. whether or not the mags fit in a pistol or not (like im mostly sure many .22 AR style mags do not, as some are proprietary, or, .308 20 round magazines, which, to my limited knowledge no pistol out there accepts), many wont ship here because its easier to err on the side of caution than to risk tripping any firearms laws which are serious business.
i dont know if they're illegal or not, but either way, most gun broker sellers wont risk shipping those to hawaii.

I see, im going to message them telling them about the specifics of our pistol magazine law. Hopefully they change their mind.

which pretty much says the AWB is going to be laughed out of congress.
supposedly, the mag bill isnt even going to go to a vote.

but you can watch the whole thing, to hear the asshole talk about how the AWB "isnt about banning the average gun" (uh, the ar 15 and general semi auto pistols are pretty damn common. they are more your average gun than a hunting bolt action)
and how the columbine shooters used assault weapons like a pump action shotgun...

Did you guys here this analyst. I'm paraphrasing here. Lets not call it gun control cause that sounds like the government taking away liberties. Lets call it reducing violent crime. Ohh and yeah lets throw in mental health. Lets call it this so we can fool all those dumb ass gun owners to support us taking their guns away.
Let's not be fooled here. These gun grabbers aren't going to stop. We gotta keep pushing the issue. Continue writing letters to every politician. Join as a life member of the NRA. Talk to non gun owners. Shoot encourage them to buy a gun. Any gun. You heard the numbers. There are more gun grabbers than gun owners and even more followers who go with the bandwagon. Now is the time to get those followers on our bandwagon.

Jesus, only MSNBC would give that retard his own show.

I called the NRA-ILA at about 12;00 their time. The frankenstein bill hasnt even made it to committee in the senate and the gun or mag bill was in committee but did NOT have a number yet. When it has a number the NRA will read it and OPPOSE it. The house DOES NOT have enough votes to pass. Maybe not enough to bring it to the floor or out of committee. The Illinois bill doesnt have support either in so poke your eye gun banners. Like xer21 says. Stop frenching around with guns and fix da problem.

Not sure if this has already been referenced elsewhere on the forums, but I enjoyed the read and wanted to share with the bruddahs!!

:shaka:
Larry Correia refutes gun grabbers once and for all? Not possible. These idiots were forced to admit just eight short years ago that their AWB was a worthless POS, and here we are going around and around again. You can't fix stupid, not with statistics, not with real world experience, nothing. Gun grabbers aren't misguided simpletons who can be persuaded to the path of righteousness, they are willfully ignorant would-be tyrants who cannot be reformed; they can only be beaten into temporary retreat.
Consider, for example, what the whole idea of gun control is: "I think guns lead to violence and death, and I don't think anyone should be able to have them. Therefore, I am going to vote that we pay men with guns to go around to the houses of other people with guns and take those guns away under threat of violent death."

Good points. I do my best to stay calm and rational when speaking/debating online with gun grabbers, but only because cool logic makes them look dumber. The quote was a generic gun grabber, boiling his points down to the basics. I wasn't quoting anyone in particular, although the bit about paying men with guns to force your ideas on everyone else is fairly common with libertarians. (Which I am not, but find a bit of common ground with.)
-
From what I understand is that a bill cannot be heard in the House unless a majority from the party bringing it approves of it. There was some discussion on this from NPR that I was listening to while driving, but I don't know how accurate that is.

I think this video covers this bill.

Guys, our government wants to severely limit or destroy our ability to own guns. Yet the law enforcers in Hilo have evicted 2 known drug dealers from a house in Kaumana for dealing drugs from the home. AND.... these people have 4 long guns and one pistol acording to the story, which can be found in West Hawaii Today dated 1/13/12 or on Hawaii Free Press. The PD knows they are dealing, knows the amount AND WHERE AND WHEN THEY PICK IT UP. That they own firearms that are PROHIBITED to own by law. Yet wnt to restrict or remove OUR right to bear arms???? AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE??? How about prosecution on several felonies instead of civil court??? Barring them from being on the property that they share with 10 other felons???? WTF???? I have to stop writing now.........my high blood pressure.

don't count on it, lets keep contacting the congress and our senators about this. keep it in front of them so when it does come across they will recognize it. Lets play the game just like the left. Keep bringing it up over and over. never give up never let your guard down. Press on
