The left admitted to using guns for violence -- not self defense, but for other reasons.
When We Asked Survey Respondents:
“Have you ever fired a gun in anger?”
- Democrats: 16% Yes
- Republicans: 10% Yes
“Have you ever threatened someone with a gun?”
- Democrats: 18% Yes
- Republicans: 11% Yes
“Have you ever used a gun to get what you want?”
- Democrats: 13% Yes
- Republicans: 6% Yes
One of the surprising conclusions of the survey stated.
Men who own just one gun are more likely to use that
gun in a dangerous way than men who own more guns.

Admittedly, most Right-leaning gun owners are reluctant to answer gun surveys at all, so the pool have have been weighted more in the Democrat direction.
Also, there's no way to know if respondents were honest.
Regardless, the fact this was published makes me think perhaps the tide is turning when it comes to having an honest debate about gun control. Baby steps.

This goes in line with what I have noticed in other areas. The right comes off as more crazy and appearing violent in their beliefs but when the rubber meets the road they seem more emotionally stable and less likely to resort to actually using force without justification.
On a side note I have to wonder about the percentages as they seem rather high. 10% of republicans have fired a gun in anger or threatened someone with a gun? Are they including being sent to war? Was this survey done in a bad part of Chicago? That just seems awfully high as an overall number. I doubt 10% or even 6% of republicans in Hawaii have used a gun for any of these things outside of police/military type situations.

You seem to have many questions and no answers. Maybe do some research on your own for a change?
METHODOLOGY: Men’s Health conducted this survey of 1,211 men over
age 18 in the United States who owned a gun. The data-collection period
spanned from April 15 to April 29, 2024. The survey was distributed to individuals
using SurveyMonkey, Inc., San Mateo, California. www.surveymonkey.com

It happens pretty regularly, but nobody wants tell the police because the state would figure out a way to turn it into a crime and lock the person up for defending themselves.
Ever notice how the insane homeless who attack people get let right back out onto the street but then they seize lawfully registered guns from guys who saw a psychologist for minor psychiatric issues?
There's no money to be made from the homeless. Pirate logic.

We do know the result of strict gun laws in blue cities...

That's the problem with hatred. You end up becoming exactly what it is that you hate.

i found throughout life most people hate anyone who reminds them of their own shortcomings.
It's projection in its basic form.
So, do they become what they hate, or are they already what they hate, hating themselves because of it, and projecting what they are onto others?
Chicken and egg conundrum.

What do you mean by "they"? Those people don't take too kindly when you refer to them as "they".

Swoosh.
your link is behind a paywall...
Maybe just try to address the issue I raised instead of pointless snark.

I wouldn't consider using a gun in self defense to be "using a gun to get what I want" though and even then I wouldn't really consider firing a gun in self defense to be out of anger or a threat either though technically I could be angrily firing at an attacker. I don't know if the questions gave better explanations but the image I got from the wording are more along the lines of improper uses of firearms. Plus Flapp specifically said not for self defense. These questions make it sound like 10% of republicans have committed a gun crime.

LOL! Paywall? Right.
Look who's all snarky and simultaneously wrong!

So now you are calling me a liar? You think I just made up out of thin air that there was a paywall? It blurs out the article and tells me I have to become a member which comes with a monthly cost.
Gosh you love to start stupid pointless fights.

You're obviously unable to follow a link unless it supports your own beliefs.
No surprise you can't access something you don't want to acknowledge destroys your opinion.
Maybe you could do some investigating on your own to find a link that works instead of whining to me that I'm not spoon-feeding you information you could easily find if you cared enough to try?
Just a thought -- one I find occurs almost every time you post here.

This is another one of your pointless arguments, but as we both know you just love to argue.
I didn't claim you copied and pasted the results incorrectly, I reasoned why the numbers were questionable so you just posting a link to the article you got the numbers from doesn't do anything.

Do your own research. You don't believe what i post anyway, so why bother trying to educate you?

I didn't ask you to educate me. I attempted to have a discussion about the accuracy of the numbers and what they really meant. I guess you couldn't miss the opportunity to turn it into another dumb argument.

Besides you often deflecting, now you're playing the victim card. Nice evolution.

No. A discussion is a two way effort. You provide nothing of value while asking that I do all the work of posting facts and data.
I'm not your intern. do the work, and maybe then you can engage in intelligent discussions instead of all the back and forth bickering.
It doesn't take intelligence to ask a question you could just as easily answer on your own -- if you're not too lazy, that is.

You really have become Flapp's little attack dog. Hope he buys you the premium kibble.

Provide nothing of value? I didn't make a counter argument, I questioned the reliability of the data. Questioning the reliability of data doesn't require me to prove something else first. I think you just get offended because I questioned something you posted. You can't have that so you have to pound on your chest.
You have access to the website, you could post the data but instead you want me to go get a subscription just to go read information for an argument you want to make. Not doing your homework for you and not going to engage in another stupid argument with you.

Yes, you ARGUED that the data is not RELIABLE. Stop mincing words. If I question your integrity, it's just another way of saying I don't think you're an honest person.

Kind of funny how nobody volunteers to back you up. Maybe you should offer kibble plus medical coverage? :geekdanc:
Maybe nobody here likes how you act? Or just maybe nobody agrees with what you say for the most part, especially since you tend to cause every thread to devolve into being about you?
