Title: Recycling brass cases
Post by: zippz on February 20, 2025, 07:16:28 PM
Today I recycled about 7.5 gallons of brass cases, or 125lbs at Reynolds Recycling in Halawa.  Got $176.  $1.40 per pound.

To recycle:
Reynolds Recycling takes brass Tuesday - Saturday Halawa.  Call for other locations.
All calibers brass and chrome plated brass cases.  Can be mixed together.  No need to deprime.  Don't need to clean.
Filter out live ammo, steel and aluminum cases along with any misc material...lead fragments, rocks, etc.
Might get more money selling certain calibers to reloaders if it's worth your time.

Anyone know a place that has a higher rate?
Tried looking up Okuda Metals but they shut down.

Not worth the effort to sell once fired brass to people for stuff like 9mm and 556.  Maybe for other calibers like 30-06, 30 carbine, 6.5 creedmore, revolver calibers, etc but still may take a while to sell it.

Recycled two and a half 5 gallon buckets of brass at Reynolds today.  123lbs at $1.50lb for $185.

$1.50 is a good price.  It was $1.10 six months ago.
