Title: Do any other states have a similar thing to Hawaii's permit-to-acquire process?

Do any other states require training, criminal and medical background check, fingerprinting, a waiting period, and a permit before acquiring any firearm?

What is the closest any other state comes?

You may have noticed that gun laws in most gun control states have been changing recently.  Any lists found on the Interweb-thingy may or may not be current.  But, lists are a good place to start.

I think the state of New Jersey is like the BS we have in Hawaii.
