Police said the suspect had no ID and refused to cooperate with the investigation.
However police were able to identify him as Luis Manterola, a citizen of Mexico.

Any way to start a pool on whether he'll be handed over to ICE?

Hawaii does not have any cities that are officially designated as sanctuary cities.

However, there are certain laws and policies in place that protect immigrants
and refugees living in Hawaii from being detained or deported for their immigration
status. These laws include limiting local law enforcement’s involvement in
immigration enforcement, protecting immigrants’ access to public services, and
protecting immigrant rights regarding employment.

Additionally, the State of Hawaii has enacted legislation to protect immigrants
who are victims of crime by refusing to cooperate with federal immigration detainers.

I propose designating the state capitol grounds and parking lot and Honolulu City Hall and grounds sanctuary and homeless

living areas.  HPD headquarter grounds and parking lot can accommodate any overflow.

I propose designating the state capitol grounds and parking lot and Honolulu City Hall and grounds sanctuary and homeless

living areas.  HPD headquarter grounds and parking lot can accommodate any overflow.

Also I'm sure the City Council, Legislators, and Senate would gladly hand over their recent pay raises to fund the housing and care for the sanctuary and homeless people.  Gov. Greed and Mayor Bland can host the soup kitchens in their back and front yards.

After all, every one of them ran for office TO SERVE, not for the pay........ ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
