CCWing a metal frame gun is a poor choice. But I get that it prob was only invented for competitiion shooting divisions. Still lame.

A lot of revolver and 1911 concealed carriers will be disappointed to hear that.

Anything other than a snub nose for a backup CCW, my statement stands.

So, you'd carry a 15+ oz backup revolver plus the weight of 5 rounds of ammo instead of adding another 6-7 oz to a polymer SIG P320 which matches the weight of the SIG P229 (what the US Secret Service carries)?
I'm not sure weight is what you're trying to minimize if you're good with adding a second pistol.
You also have to add in the weight of additional ammo/mags/speed loaders.
My point is, there's no one-size-fits-all answer for carry guns. How many polymer revolvers do you know of? I know people whose grip strength is too weak to properly use a semi-auto. "Limp wristing" causes all kinds of jams and failures-to-feed. Do those people not have a valid reason for using a metal frame revolver as their primary carry firearm?

Yes.
For the following reason: It's a back up gun. Which means I either lost the 1st one or it broke. So having a revolver that's less likely to jam as the back up. No spare ammo, just what's in the cylinder.
Also, since it would be an ankle gun, finding a kydex holster for a striker fired gun that has a lighter trigger (condition 1) that can go on the ankle adds extra bulk compared to a "uncle mikes" type ankle holster. And with the much heavier trigger pull, not as much concern compared to a striker fired gun.
Like you said, there's no 1 size fits all and the above is my reasoning.

Your reply doesn't address my main point, which was in response to your assertion that CCWing a metal frame gun is a poor choice. You're now saying you'd carry a metal frame firearm (revolver) as a backup.
Pick one -- you can't have it both ways. Either as a primary or backup, what makes a metal framed gun a poor choice?
i think you've already debated yourself into a corner. It's a poor choice as a primary but not as a backup? Your logic is faulty.

I added to my statement because I forgot about revolvers. That was my oversight. So I'll clarify:
Having a main CCW with a metal frame is dumb. This includes revolvers. But having a back up revolver is the exception in my opinion.

You forgot to add, "in my opinion," or "for my own personal needs."
As you agreed, polymer semi-autos may not be optimal for all CCW carriers.
So, a revolver as a primary would be the optimal solution for someone unable to prevent limp-wristing a semi-auto, which would necessitate carrying an all metal frame gun.
Nothing dumb about it unless you're a polymer pistol snob.

I thought that "But having a back up revolver is the exception in my opinion." covered my new revised statement.
If it's not clear, all my statements in this thread is my opinion.

If we have to take all your comments in aggregate to ascertain your actual opinion, then i guess that's what's needed.
Curious, though. Was that collection of statements always your opinion, or did it evolve and change because the original post was lame?

As I already posted, "If it's not clear, all my statements in this thread is my opinion.".

it's not clear, which is why i asked for clarification.
You say "all my statements in this thread is my opinion," and opinion is singular. That tells me you have one opinion, and it's comprised of multiple statements.
Maybe you meant to say, "all my statements in this thread is are my opinions?"
I just don't know if I'm comprehending your words as you intended.

My mistake about the confusion. "all my statements in this thread are my opinions".

Thanks. That makes more sense.
My opinion is that your first opinion is lame.
