Guard in response to protests in Los Angeles over immigration enforcement
operations that have resulted in some clashes between demonstrators and authorities,
the White House said in a statement.
President Donald Trump signed a memorandum "deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen
to address the lawlessness" in California as demonstrations opposing Immigration and
Customs Enforcement operations continue in the state, White House Press Secretary

"In the wake of this violence, California's feckless Democrat leaders have completely
abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens," Leavitt said. "That is why President

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said in a post on X that the Defense Department is
"mobilizing the National Guard IMMEDIATELY to support federal law enforcement in
Los Angeles. And, if violence continues, active duty Marines at Camp Pendleton will
also be mobilized - they are on high alert."
Earlier, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said the federal government was moving to "take
over the California National Guard," calling the move "purposefully inflammatory" and
saying it will "only escalate tensions."
Newsom said local California authorities don't need the help.
"LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment's notice," he
said. "We are in close coordination with the city and county, and there is currently no
unmet need."

The additional 500 Marines will be assigned to protect federal property and personnel, but some reports say they may be protecting civilians from rioters as well. Without declaring martial law, i don't think active duty marines have the authority to enforce laws on US soil.
That's 2,500 more assets assigned to keep California safe -- 2,500 more than the CA Governor deployed.

A presidential Title 10 activation is legal and is quite common. That is how National Guard forces are mobilized to be sent overseas to do federal missions and fight wars.

as well as the threat of invasion. Typically, the president invokes the Insurrection
Act. However, there is a specific provision in Title 10 of the U.S. Code on Armed
Services that allows for the president to activate the National Guard. This clause

or is in danger of invasion by a foreign nation;

3. Could it be that they're really trying to destabilize the country - hold it as hostage to their coordinated and well funded anarchy? In other words, now that the cover has been completely blown off of their stealth invasion, take over, and destruction of our country - such that their political arm, the Democrat party - was puked out of power overwhelmingly and decisively - do they now see nothing left to loose, and are baring their fangs openly?

What's different about this round of riots is the previous were about Cops killing blacks, defund the police, etc. This is more of an interference in Federal Agents (ICE) doing their jobs. Before, Trump could sit back and wait for the Governor or mayor of the area being looted and burned to ask for his help. In this situation, he can't be complacent and let the rioters continue what they are doing. This is his agenda -- deporting illegals and stopping illegal immigration as much as possible.
He learned in his first term he should not sit and wait for a formal request to help a state. Gotta be proactive if he expects to accomplish his objectives, especially since this is his last term.

Trump is doing the right thing. And if he didn't do it already, he should advise all Governors in all states that he will do the exact same thing if they impede in any way in Federal operations to deport illegal immigrants.

Curfew Announced in
Downtown Los Angeles
Mayor Karen Bass has issued a curfew for Downtown Los Angeles.
The curfew will be in place starting tonight from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

In Vegas, they had a "protest" in downtown last night. 94 arrested and the order for the crowd to disperse was given due to them throwing liquids and objects at the police. Metro was told "not to stand down" like how LAPD was. So property damage and disruption to the working peoples lives were kept at a minimum.

The flaw with that is there are sanctuary states and cities where illegals are allowed to live like they are citizens but with special privileges. Many of them who break the law are never charged because the Dem-wits want to protect them from being noticed by ICE.
Those policies affect the people there who voted for Trump as well as neighboring cities and states.

I don't think he was removed and detained for being disrespectful. It happened because he was creating a public disturbance during an informational briefing, and he resisted when asked by the FBI and Secret Service to stop it, and then he resisted being removed form the room and while being cuffed.
Since he didn't say who he was at the outset and intentionally did not wear his security pin identifying him as a member of Congress, I guess he F'd around and found out what would happen.
If being disrespectful was something Trump wanted to have the DOJ crack down on, every member of Congress would be cuffed on a regular basis.
