I would take what McKayla has with a grain of salt.  She did talk shit during the last Olympics about the team that she wasn't on (retired) and that Simone was on. 

Mckayla made the Japan Olympic team because they needed someone for the bars and she was the best for USA.

Simone also opened her gym to Laurie Hernandez after she found out that Laurie was going to quit due to the toxic environment at her old gym.  So she was looking out for her teammate.

I think that Simone wants to be part of the "club" and support men in womens sports as that's the cool thing now.  Maybe she's running out of money.
