Title: sounds like a "ghost gun" to me
Post by: ren on October 02, 2025, 06:21:49 PM
https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2025/10/02/officer-involved-shooting-shuts-down-punchbowl-street/

Officers recovered a revolver-type firearm at the scene.

Vanic added that “it was not a ghost gun.”

“There was a serial number,” he said. “I can also tell you that it was not registered, but it was also not reported stolen.”

Casper had a name but good like finding him.

How da hell did a guy who has 4 priors get a firearm that is not registered and not stolen.

Maybe he picked it up because it was "unattended" by a ............ ;D

“Oh thank God it wasn’t a ghost gun” says the meat puppet, “Those are the most dangerous guns devised by man.”

Oh thank you politically correct police spokesperson.  Now the meat puppets can sleep tonight.

The cops had no justification for shooting.  He only had a revolver-type gun -- nowhere near as lethal or reliable and a real pistol.

Yes, but gnawing anxiety about their semiautos compulsively impels them to completely empty their magazines into others, hence the ubiquitous cop 9mm spray phenomenon…

for a few precious moments, they can feel safe.

Only 5 shots were reported by the witness.  Probably out of the Cops' deep sense of fairness.

They recognized the revolver-type gun was only capable of holding 5 shots,
and reloading would take more time than needed to walk up and use their other cool weapons
-- had they not managed to stop him already.

Sadly, this same semiauto anxiety just took the lives of innocent victims in the UK.

The streets would be dramatically safer for all if cops went back to the proper form, discipline, and mental calm engendered by the greater reliability, safety - and stopping power - of modern revolvers.

“Al-Shamie killed one of the victims and sent two to the hospital with injuries, while the cops accidentally killed another victim and shot a 3rd person who was also sent to the hospital.”

Don't fall into the trap of comparing or contrasting any gun-related stories in the UK to our country.

We are a nation that protects the right to keep and bear arms.  Our national history and culture includes the opportunity to practice, hunt and compete with firearms without special permission from the government (save the rules and regulations pertaining to game preservation like seasons and quotas).

The National Rifle Association (NRA) was founded in 1871 in New York City to promote rifle marksmanship.  What the US Civil War demonstrated is that we can't depend on a couple weeks of military basic training to create proficient marksmen.  Training while there is no pressing need to use that skill ensures we have the skills within the civilian population should they ever have to rely on it in time of war.

Common sense.  Building those skills requires time, effort AND RESOURCES.
