I picked up a blank PTA and have a handgun arriving soon. officer at firearms dept told me I need to bring in firearm to register bc it has a blank PTA. it is from a FFL/store. is this true, can't register online? or is HPD blowing hot air up my assI’d call and talk to Jiro. Most of the time he answers, but if not try asking for him. Nice guy, very helpful. Spent a lot of time helping me with a complicated (error by FFL) registration issue.

blank PTA saves time, but does not save a trip to hpd
she said they are backlogged 500 online registrations and may take 2 months to receive online registration. not my problem. hpd better work faster. cut back on the eating chicken katsu and start working faster. chop-chop!

On June 3, 2022, with the signing of a new gun law HB2075 (Act 030),
effective immediately,
the HPD Firearms Unit requires physical inspections for the following firearms:
#1 firearms and firearm receivers that are assembled without serial numbers or other identification markings
#2 firearms brought into the State from other jurisdictions
