Title: Fireworks: remarkably quiet in the run-up to New Years Eve (so far)

so far, where I live has been remarkably quiet, no firecrackers, no aerials, nothing.  Just peace & quiet.  Waipahu side.

totally opposite of last year, when from after-TG (it seems), through New Years, there's the constant popping of larger firecrackers and folks shooting off bottle-rockets and aerials.

did they finally put the last nail in the coffin on fireworks?  what happened to "our culture and traditions shall not be infringed"?
