The armpit hair on the whalely one is a nice touch.
Kudos to the NFL for using a focus group of fentanyl zombies to make this decision.

My wife had the Superbowl playing on the TV while I watched food vlogs, travel vlogs, and light-hearted and humorous pet and animal videos on my computer.
She asked me if that is the Seahawks quarterback during the introductions and I said I dunno, maybe, his jersey number is low so yeah, maybe.
Then she asked the same about the Patriots and I said, looks like it, his jersey number is low also and the reporters only talk to quarterbacks at the beginning of the game anyway.
Then I took a nap and woke up after the game. ;D

I don't understand bad bunny, he didn't sound like he was rapping. Def not "singing". It sounded like he was just telling a story or something. The show was produced poorly. Even with Gaga singing, the music drowned out her voice. The only entertaining part you could hear vocals was the 30 seconds Ricky was singing.

The NFL is all about money. More than anything else. ANYTHING.
If it brings the views, then that's what they go with.
There was a time once when I was an avid fan of the NFL and the Steelers were my team. During the years of the terrible towel.
I also believe there were more fans of NFL football back then than now.

Watched curling at the Winter Olympics.
Much more exciting and suspenseful.
Did you see that triple out of the house knockout by the US against Sweden in the 7th ?
Wow !

Curling always brings a smile to my face. That round stone gliding down the track and the players sweeping like mad.
I'm like "Whatchu guys doing???!!!"

Off topic but I'm notorious for doing this. I just feel it's not worth generating it's own thread. Anyway, this is another reason I don't watch NFL.
It's not about talent, nor contributions to the team winning. It's all about popularity. And that equates to again, money. Who cares about kickers anyway. ::)

But, to be fair, the halftime show has been sucking for years now.
Maybe they should start to pay the performers. I mean, they're chargin $3million + for a 30 second commercial, I'm sure they can find some funding to get better people.

When the Super Bowl commercials became a big factor in keeping people's attention regardless of what was happening in the game, they started charging $1M+ for a 30 second ad spot. However, once people discovered they could avoid the game and still watch the commercials online at their leisure, the number of people watching just for the commercials went way down. That's when the corporations tried do pre-game-week ads just to get more ad revenue for early ad views.
Now you can get the whole game, ads and halftime show on demand -- plus you can bypass all the political BS if you want.
Trying to market and capitalize on a sporting event like this is getting tougher as access to the event's broadcast gets easier and cheaper/free.

The commericals also weren't as entertaining as the years have passed. IMO the best was during the Buuuuddd....Weissssss...eeeerrrrr era.

There is speculation that NFL is trying to expand to other countries in the Americas which could explain the halftime show being in spanish. Makes more sense if viewed in that angle, new market = more money.
I found it odd that they didn't at least include subtitles though.
Ultimately I don't care because I don't watch sports, don't care about music, and it was ultimately heavily politicized by all the people instantly rushing to say whether it was better or the TPUSA show was better.

Dan Bongino show mentions that the winning players get a bonus of $178,000. But due to taxes, they must also pay 3.5% of their base income. So some end up paying $250K in taxes for playing in CA. WHich means a loss of $70K to play in the superbowl.
I'm going to assume this is accurate as Bongino post majority accurate stuff.

My deaf cousin was with us watching the game. We had closed caption on for him and the subtitles o nthere were in spanish.

It's telling (if true) that the NFL is more about marketing an annual halftime performance than promoting their main season-long product: US Football.
