A White Plains residence pinpointed on a controversial handgun permit database was burglarized Saturday, and the burglars’ target was the homeowner’s gun safe.
At least two burglars broke into a home on Davis Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Saturday but were unsuccessful in an attempt to open the safe, which contained legally owned weapons, according to a law enforcement source. One suspect was taken into custody, the source said.
The gun owner was not home when the burglary occurred, the source said. The victim, who is in his 70s, told Newsday on Sunday that he did not want to comment while the police investigation continues.
So, if the homeowner was home and was killed by these thugs, couldn't the paper be partially responsible (legally) for his death? Or would leftists circle the wagons and obfuscate and deflect blame like they usually do?

I think they should be tried as a co conspirator in this burglary.
The only way someone could possibly know this man had guns was because of the article.
In fact, the very article would be all the evidence needed to convict, if not in criminal then in civil court.

The paper would not be criminally liable if something tragic had happened. It sucks, but the fact is the information publically accessable in NY...because if this, proof "beyond a resonable doubt" that the paper did anything criminal would be impossible.
BUT, the homeowner might have a civil case and hold the paper financially responsible for damages and invasion of privacy. If any of the suspects put in their statements that they picked the house using the published information? The case would be a lock. :thumbsup:

that makes to much sense, they'd claim free speech and its public knowledge so it would never see the light of day, especially in most of the liberal courts now a days.
