The only advice I’d take from the author is how to eat an entire pan of brownies in one sitting.

The only point with any value is that money or things are not worth dying over, however I would revise it to “not worth killing over.”
Agree about the pan of brownies, but I suspect she might have that as an exception to the “worth dying for” part.

Great, so now the criminals know that the people they plan to terrorize have been told to give them what they want. I will admit, I've never been in a situation that a criminal has given me a life or death ultimatum, but I'm sure my response will be based on which way I feel the scale it tipping, based on the irrational person who put everyone in that situation.
