Title: *new to reloading.... powder measure question.
Post by: okaykneenumb14 on March 10, 2026, 03:00:29 PM
Very NEW to reloading.... looking for recommendations for hand operation powder measure able to do pistol and rifle. And nothing too crazy expensive but if it's worth it kinda thing I'll bite the bullet. Also books to read and go off of. Picked up a gently used rcbs summit press and inline fab mount from the local pew show couple years back and been acquiring a few dies since 2020. Mahalos  :shaka:

I'm partial to the drum-type measures (Hornady, RCBS, etc) versus the sliding charge bar (Dillon) or the ones that use the disks (Lee).  You are getting into reloading at a good time.  Many old timers are getting rid of their stuff.  You can probably score great reloading deals at the upcoming gun show

I used an rcbs uniflow for a while. It's really good.
Nowadays, I use Dillon presses so I use the measure that came with them. Curious...what are you going to load most of the time?

Lee perfect powder,RCBS Uniflow (ball powder) and Dillon worked well for my usage.
Trickiest powder to dispense are your extruded (stick) powders.

Just last night I was thinking about selling reloading stuff as a fundraiser for the Red Cross or something like that.

This if you can afford it. If not, save and get it. The fx 120 is being phased out and is being replaced with the 123.

They just had a sale on the pkg scale and trickler a little over $ 1,100 might wanna keep an eye on it. Sold out quick
