Post by: zippz on April 27, 2026, 09:39:04 PM
This place is giving free Stop the Bleed classes through June 2026.  It's about tournaquets, wound packing, etc.   It's only on the weekdays.  I'm taking it this Wednesday.

+1
Excellent class. Highly recommended.
Last time I went they gave us a free "Bleed Kit" which included scissors, marker and CAT 5  tourniquet.

I attended the Stop the Bleed class today. It was on the top floor conference center of the Honolulu Airport Interisland parking lot. I didn't know that place existed. Class was free and 1 1/2hrs long going over tournaquets, direct pressure, and wound packing. It's a good refresher for those that did it in the military, LE, or took a medical class before. For people that never did it before, they learned a lot and enough to take care of the problem if its thrown at them. There were a dozen students in the class who appeared to be just regular people and a few teachers. I took this as a prerequisite to be a stop the bleed instructor for the red cross.
Prior to this, they held their free CPR class and the classroom was packed full. I thought a lot of them would stay over for the stop the bleed, but they all left. Guess they just needed it for work.
