Election year.

We have seen some anti 2a bills pass, but they aren't as major compared to non-election years.

Which ones? I feel like we would all like to be pointed to which bills

I don't remember off the top of my head, but every year a few pass.  That's why this year is amazing.

The most active hoplophobe in the state senate announced his retirement, and then there was a marked drop in hoplophobia in the state senate... How is that a conspiracy?

"...but every year a few pass."

is that Death By A Thousand Cuts, or the gradual boiling of the frog in the kettle?

did the "enhancements" to the Red Flag law get passed?

How many times does someone keep getting up in front of everyone to brag about their gun control accomplishments only to have Allen Beck keep pulling their pants down around their ankles?

https://www.civilbeat.org/2026/05/the-sunshine-blog-did-a-state-senator-kill-a-reps-bill-out-of-spite/

This article says why SB2575 failed, the bill increasing penaltys for possessing a gun connected to other crimes and TROs.  Senate wanted to up the penalty for possessing a gun while under a TRO to a Class A felony with a 10 year minimum, up from the bills Class C felony, and up from the current misdemeanor.  House didn't agree and there was a spat between legislators killing each others bills at the end.
