Just be VERY careful with your words...Mentioning "Militia" and quoting (or hinting at) Thomas Jefferson's "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants" is commonly associated with those "bad" subversive groups.

Im just saying, I guess this is why nobody wants to stand up and be counted as opposed to what is being shoved in our face, any diet of any sort as relating to firearms is a breech of the second amendment.
But yea, I guess your right that were pretty much screwed no matter what, no way to vote the bastards out, and they will just make their own rules up to what suits them, and dont dare say anything opposed to them or you are a nutjob terrorist, witch I know is not true, and the people I work with and supply with produce, or am friends with know is not true,,

It is a sad state indeed that we need to live in fear of our own government,
but yes, I get it,,,
and yes I am concerned,, I have no desire to get my ass thrown in the popoki,
but this is why I feel it may be necessary to at least try and come together,
not again I say NOT to shoot the place up,
hell we live in Hawaii, that would be pretty stupid, our island home is pretty peaceful for the most part, I say for the most part, anyway, the main purpose of this posting would be to come together and have a meeting of minds and maybe exchange some knowledge or skills, to in effect build community,
when your neighbors are all liberal and your friends are all older and complacent or afraid to step one iota out of line, how else can someone build a network?
this was my thinking, I dont think any one of us would be on a web forum spouting off about gettin crazy and splitting heads,,, just not a good idea,
but to honestly use the forum as a tool to build comunity and at least the beginnings of outreach to me seems like a good thing. I guess a sandwitch board could work too but even I think that may be a bit much,,,,

Just havent been able to connect with any like minded folks on Maui, everyone is real guarded, perhaps rightly so, perhaps not, I dont know,

I think a start would be to find conservative groups such as the republican or libertarian party and go from there. The gun shop or range is sure to have like minded people as well? Gotta' be HRA members on Maui too so no need to go on your own (although not quite a militia). Organizing a neighborhood watch group is a good idea too and addresses immediate need.

Like minded neighbors or nearby residents in the neighborhood goes a long way in time of crisis ( crises ?)........or zombie apocalypse. :o
It's like a small platoon of ummmmmm nevermind. :thumbsup:
Would be nice to know where the big regiment of ummmm nevermind is though.

What i worry about is TSHTF and everything is chaos and then nobody knows who to trust!
My neighbors, gotta work on that been trying, i get a lot more your nuts looks than ummm lets rock,
Lots of old folks around me too and older single or widowed women, sorta worrisome, honestly am more concerned about the dollar crashing and ending up with roving groups of bad news peeps, than the government thugs doin a no knock on me, anyway,

there are a lot more like minded people than you realize. just be careful who you tell what to. read the patriot and one second after and the glenn tate series. lots of good info there.
when you probe you can tell who is like minded, pretend you are playing poker and don't show all your cards at once.
there are a lot more of us out there then you know.

Ghandi had the right idea, folks. I sum it up this way these days - whether I'm talking to a doom-and-gloom liberal who is certain the environmental collapse in on our doorstep or a doom-and-gloom conservative who is certain the economic and moral collapse is nipping at our heals, the solution is the same:
1) Grow and hunt your own food - or be able to provide for yourself in some other sustainable way
2) Be able to provide your own water
3) Be able to provide enough power to meet your needs indefinately or have ready non-powered solutions that are adequate to your needs
4) Be able to provide for your medical needs via sustainable means
5) Be on good terms with your neighbors - who are hopefully doing the above, as well.
All crises can be managed from that standpoint. If armed self defense is part of your priorities its best home is within item number 5.

Patriots was good, read all 3 books in JWRs series, been wanting to read Brackens books,

I read the first two Bracken books, pretty good. I really like the 299 days series, they only have 4 of the books out, there is 10 in the series. Its kind of expensive thought $10.00 a book and its a series so you have to read all of them. but has really good info.
