I found this on ar15.com, a police officer emptying 18 rounds on a son beating his father to death with a baseball bat. Son has a violent criminal record and may have a mental disorder. But he just absorbed those rounds without flinching. A few things to add to my analysis below. This is a good reason why we may need more than 10 rounds in a magazine. Also need to train guaranteeing hits at distance and being able to adjust your firing rate based on the difficulty of target. I'm sure the house in the back took a bunch of rounds. I also noticed the cops ability to communicate, analyze the situation, and adjust his firing while remaining in control.

I measured the shooting distance from first shots at 12y to last shots at 4y.
First set of 5 shots on the move were fired in 1.25s at 10 to 12y.
Next set of 5 were shooting on the move to 4y at a pace of 2 shots per second.
Remaining 8 shots were stationary at 4y at a pace of 3.5 shots per second.
Appeared the cop was a skilled shooter looking at his grip and his steady walking pace. He fired his first 5 shots way to fast, but adjusted afterwards. I'm guessing he got at least 2/3rds of his shots on target.
I can see why he didn't go for the headshot as the guys head was moving around a lot and blocked by his arm sometimes. A person can still function for up to 10 seconds after a direct hit to the heart, which is probably the case here.
