Title: Navy: Lincoln Refueling Delayed, Will Hurt Carrier Readiness
Post by: Bunker on February 09, 2013, 11:05:30 PM
While Washington plays games with the FY13 budget and sequestration looming, seems the politicians don't care too much about gutting the DoD and operational/material readiness.

Lincoln (CVN 72) is a nuclear carrier...no petrol for her in the gasoline sense.

Them messing with the defense budget will adversely affect the economy in Hawaii.  This will be very bad for us here very very soon.

Seeing all those carriers tied up so close together reminds me of what the Japanese were hoping to see in Pearl Harbor. If this is not a target for a nuclear warhead from a rogue nation I don't know what is. That picture is a security issue IMHO.

Yup will also point out the article says the budget calls for a complete overhaul too.  We are talking multiyear revisions to the carrier.
