Alright,
So this isn't really "live" yet as it's not 100% finished. I would say I am about 60% done, but wanted to get some more looks at this website I am putting together to help promote firearm rights, training, and ownership in our beautiful state.
Please take a look at http://www.hawaiiccw.com (http://www.hawaiiccw.com) . I am looking for feedback for any errors, suggestions, layout (color's, frame locations ect) Some stuff is limited to change due to my knowledge of wordpress; I am just now learning it.
Things that are to change
-- Front page picture, the one I have is from Kauai, and I want something a bit more local and not as gloomy. (Probably going to snap one of Sandy beach area this weekend, with my new camera).
-- I have no logo, have to teach myself to make better looking Text or a actual "logo", have to get photoshop and learn that too.
-- Training is a work in progress: Planning to add "L.I.F.E" and a few of the Gun Shops.
-- Bugs: Embeded Youtube doesn't seem to enjoy IE 8.
Is there anything else you would want to see on the menu bar to have quick access too in relation to firearms?
All negative (and obviously positive) feedback is greatly appreciated; without it, I am unable to improve the site to better suit it's targeted audience.

First of all, I commend you making the website. In regards to the links and news I would say concentrate more on local stuff, that pertains to where we are on 2a issues, what are the hurdles we're going through, setbacks, and victories we had. I. e. links from local media(videos, articles, news). It would help too if you explain the concept of self-defense that it's a God given right and the constitution is only there to re-assure it. And being armed is one of the ways to defend yourself, your love ones and life. Remember, your audience are the people who need/want to understand the concept of self defense and to dispel myths(more guns, more crime). Provide facts, like England and Australia in which when they enact gun bans and the opposite happened . Or how the swiss are the only european country who wasn't invaded during world war 2 due to the fact that all they're citizens are armed and still true today.

IMHO, you should put a mission statement on the front page. If someone stumbles onto the website, they need to know within a few seconds EXACTLY what the site is about or they will just leave.
Yeah, maybe the pic could be upgraded.... beautiful place but that's a thunderstorm out in the ocean ;D

Thanks man! Just want to try and do my part, figured this was a good idea.

Yeah right now our "war" is essentially in CA. Once a few more cases drop it, quite possibly, could be game over for Hawaii Laws.

That's one thing I want to look at in the future. Why we are disarmed of our non-lethal weapons is of no understanding to myself.
Alright -- redid a bunch of stuff. Please continue to provide feedback.

I could use some help with that "mission" statement! =/ I could probably think of something, but more heads are better then one. Been working on it for like four hours now. I need to head out.

One of the myths regarding the need for self defense that needs more public info is that the police will protect you. All too often when talking to folks they are under the impression that the "government" has some duty or obligation to protect you. And, as we all know, that is just plain wrong. Maybe some links/info on important cases resulting from this misunderstandinng. Some off the top of my head: Castlerock v. Gonzales, Warren v. D.C., and DeShaney v. Winnebago

"Gun Myths" section is in the works. Please keep the suggestions coming. I have a rework of the law's breakdown that I want to do and that myths section. Few others I have seen as well.

Funtimes, it looks like your site is shaping up nicely. If you are looking for gun myths, gunfacts.info (http://gunfacts.info/) has a great writeup.
-
Looks good so far!
The only real suggestion I have is maybe separate the national gun news from the local Hawaii news.

Thanks for that link 2a. Really good stuff there. I will have to contact him to see if I can use some of that.

I like this idea. Or have them all together but have the option to filter out one or the other.

Just received permission from Guy @ gun facts to use his info so I will be making that gun myths section. Ill get a Hawaii news up by the Friday as well.
-- Any hawaii news =P. I see people getting hurt @ Kalihi Valley homes that makes a good question to why those neighborhoods are disarmed and vulnerable.

Portions of the "Gun Myths" are up and running. Please check it out intention is to add a next and previous that will flop to the next page in that "section". There is *ALOT* of info here, and I want to get most of it in.
If it seems overwhelming, (I think it might be) I can condense it to the most pertinent "facts" related to conceal carry and crime decreases. What do you guys think?
The "accidental deaths" section is complete, and reflects how I want about 9 other sections to span out.

FT - WELL DONE! I am impressed with the work you have put into this. I hope Hawaii residence will have the opportunity to have CCW privileges in the future.
