Good list.  I will think about the top states on this list if Hawaii ever goes further down the list.

Hell yeah, when I use to live in Arizona, you could just walk in to any gun shop and buy a few handguns and a rifle or two and walk out in 5 mins!  its some what spooky when you first do this and nobody blinks twice about it.  driving out in to the desert and shooting up a few targets was also very nice!

46. Hawaii

Hawaii is technically a May-Issue CCW state, but good luck trying to get one. A state permit to purchase is required to buy a handgun—some of which are prohibited. There are restrictions on assault weapons and any magazine that holds more than 10 rounds, and no Class 3/NFA weapons are allowed. The state has a Castle Doctrine law, but retreat is required outside the home. Hawaii has the lowest percentage of gun owners—6.7 percent—of all the states.

Seems some of the information is a bit inaccurate, like the magazine restriction and you actually need permits to acquire everything and also register.

I think Hawaii should be either 48th or 49th on the list.

Lol incredible isnt it?  Hawaii has the worst self defense laws.  Illegal to carry guns, knives, tasers or strike someone.  You have to "retreat" or run away.

Whats the largest legal folding knife someone can carry?

Thanks for posting this as I was wondering where I would want to move to if I could.

I lived in Arizona while going to college.  I remember a friend of mine drove from Cal so we could shoot in the desert.   He brought a 357 magnum revolver, 20 gauge shot gun, and a 30 cal carbine rifle (may be been a Garand) along with several thousand rounds of ammo.  He purchased a semi-auto .22 rifle that had a 50 round drum you drop in from the top from Walmart and walked right out with it (along with several more thousand rounds of ammo).

Not a bad place to live if you can handle the heat.  "But it's a dry heat."  LOL

For Mongoose:

Arizona's Asian population now fastest-growing in state

The article is a little dated: 2011  -- based on the 2010 census.

Another reason to get rid of the Democrat control of this state. As long as you have leftists in high state offices, you're freedoms guaranteed to you by the Bill of Rights and/or Constitution are eroded.

I was under the impression folding knives were legal to carry, and that you didn't have an obligation to retreat out of your home because Hawaii accepts the castle doctrine. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong because otherwise Ive been a bad bad boy.....

Are class 3/NFA weapons allowed in any of these states?  I doubt it since their below us but curious.

I'd trade class 3/NFA weapons, sbr, etc, etc, for a bullet button.  Shouldn't have to, but. Maybe i should be careful what I wish for.

California, New Jersey, D.C. Have atrocious gun laws.

Hawaii isn't too bad compared to these states.

you'd trade having the ability to buy ridiculously expensive collectors items and suppressors for a bullet button?

i dunno.  i would hate having a bullet button.  i can live without suppressors and SBR's more than being able to use a functional rifle.

oh, and all of those states do have NFA restrictions like us.
