But, but, he didn't  sell them to an unauthorized person.  He sold them to an undercover  State Trooper.  :)

(Didn't take them long to set up an entrapment scheme, did they? )

...Investigators say because the rifle was outfitted with additional features including a pistol grip, a telescoping butt stock, and a bayonet mount, it is classified as an illegal assault weapon under the penal law. For that alleged sale, Wassell is charged with felony criminal sale of an illegal weapon..

NY has become such a screwed up state. Even worse than California. NY SAFE act.... what a joke. The only terrorists we have to fear in this country is these damn idiot lawmakers and the sheep who follow them.

Hopefully all the gun groups/people/supporters that were saying they wont follow the law or want to challenge it will come forward and help this individual out.  He is sort of in their shoes.

They also dont have to wait till someone sues them for infringement of the 2A.  Hopefully courts rule the law is unconstitutoinal, and it can start to make its way up to the supreme court.

Also makes me wonder if the prosecutor knows something the rest of us dont going forward with this case.

So does anyone know a way to donate money earmarked for this guys legal defense?  I wonder if NRA come to bat for this case?  I know there are organizations that do this, but I don't know of any way to specify the donation would be for a specific case.
Thanks

Sorry I typed before I did any homework  LOL    I don't know enough about this "bust" to know if it warrants my financial support.  The guy may have done some other things wrong, in which case it may not help us to support legal defense.  I'm sure we'll be hearing more from those who understand this stuff.  If they think its a good cause/chance to defend, then I can put my money where my mouth is :)

I thought the guy (undercover cop) who bought the rifles told him he was a convicted felon and he sold them to him anyway.  I think that was a big part of his problem.  The guns are one issue but selling to a prohibited person is another no-no

OMG an AR-10 MAGNUM SEMI AUTO!  RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!  HIDE!

Ain't that special.  They have to continually make up scary sounding terms in their self-righteousness to keep the panic high don't they.

No question, the NY gun laws suck and the "SAFE Act" is a joke. But the felony charge (possessing an "assault weapon") is a violation of a law that was enacted almost 13 years ago. So unless this guy has been living in a cave...there is no excuse, he's probably going to get hard time.

I thought this wasn't going to take effect for a while and also had to be ruled constitutional?
The injunction was denied. His misdemeanor charge might get tossed if it was sold before Friday because that when the private sale background check took effect. Doubt it matters though...he's got bigger problems with the felony.
