Title: Shooting mats?
Post by: Dels on March 20, 2013, 08:17:06 AM
Can anyone recommend a particular brand/model of shooting mat and where on Oahu I can pick one up?  Thanks!

Thanks for the replies!  I'll go give Mojo a call to see what they have.  I've considered beach towel and cardboard but wanted something a little more padded and robust.

you don't want a black top as it will retain heat in the sun and get rather hot

Mojo Tactical sells the Eberlestock Magic Carpet shooting mats. Haven't stopped by in a few weeks so I can't say if he has any in stock or not.

Picked up one at Long's for under $10.  Plus, it's a cool Hawaiian print, which just screams "I am a badass!" at the range.

if you got a camping sleeping pad then it would be dual purpose eh?  and go right on the bottom of the bob.  but wouldn't have all the fancy pouches or traction grip panels and stuff.  hrmm.

Why must midway charge so much to ship a shooting mat? Maybe amazon has something, they'll ship bulky items free through UPS even if it costs them more than you paid for the item.

Those manufactured shooting mats are overpriced and unnecessary. I use a purple yoga mat cover with 2 mats stuffed in it. If you want something 'manly', they make camo pattern covers too.
