Hello everyone :shaka: got a question about barrel shrouds for a ruger 10 22 that I saw on eBay. It's a plastic piece that goes over the stock barrel with set screws to make it resemble a bull barrel. Was wondering if it is illegal to install this on my firearm. Thanks

isn't it the thing that goes over your shoulder?
What is a barrel shroud? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rGpykAX1fo#)

lol! Just wanted to find out because sellers said can't ship here because of Hawaii's gun laws, but I didn't see anything. Only about suppressors that muffles or deadens the sound when discharging firearm. Funny video though.

As far as I can see in HRS 134, a barrel shroud is only mentioned in the list of characteristics that can make a pistol an "assault pistol." Nothing about shrouds themselves being prohibited.
Maybe those retailers are looking at the bills our wonderful legislature tried to introduce this year and failed to pass?
