Title: Range Report 4/5/13
Post by: Tom on April 05, 2013, 04:26:23 PM
Beautiful day at the range.  Got there at 12.30 and immediately got a bench.  Other benches were open too.  Shot until 3.30.   Thank you Mayor Caldwell.

Are the steel plates on the rifle side there for everyone to shoot at? Also, what's the rough distance that they're situated? Thanks.

The steel targets up the gulch on the right side are fair game for everyone. Ranges start from, I think, 235 yards. They used to have a list of distances posted on the bulletin board closest to the Pepsi machine on the right side. Or you can just ask one of the longtime  RSOs..

Some folks put up their own paper targets in the gulch. The range chief will usually announce that the paper targets are private, so don't shoot at 'em.

I believe that they are at 220, 330, and 440 yards.

Note that distances vary depending on what bench you sit.  The gong is shorter than 440 yds...........I want to say 425 or so, that doesn't change too much as the benches you can see it from are somewhat limited.
