Title: neos carbine kit

is the neos carbine kit considered illegal? the barrel length is less than 16"...

When you get the complete kit, you should be getting a 16"+ barrel. If you are attaching it with the shorter barrel, you are in violation of Hawaii laws. And if you don't have a registered lower, federal laws as well.

ok thanks, I was thinking about getting the carbine kit and using the neos lower. Some LGS are saying its illegal and some are saying its fine.

I just want to make sure before shelling out the money...

As long as you don't have the stock 6 in. barrel together with the carbine buttstock, you should be ok. I love my Neos and carbine kit though! ;D I would get a few spare extractors though, those tend to pop out every couple hundred rounds or so... :-\

I measured and the barrel is 16.25" end to end. It is a carbine kit!
