Police believe the bear was a threat to no one.

that guy is toast. the bear cubs probably lawyer'd up and are going to take him for all he's got. If what the guy says what happened is what really did happen it is just sick that he would face charges. I must be stuck on the wrong damn planet because people are so damn stupid here.

A 76-year-old Auburn man is facing charges after killing a bear in his backyard.

Ahlstrand is now charged with illegally killing a bear, illegally baiting a bear, illegal possession of a firearm and failing to secure a weapon.

Police don’t believe the bear was a threat to people.

I suppose there is an issue here though, that IF you don't believe the guy's story, then conceivably the charges makes sense.
