Title: iPhone forum use is brutal
Post by: HUCKLEBUCK on April 08, 2013, 11:17:39 PM
When I read posts on my iPhone the text wraps to fit to the window, but when I type replies or new posts, etc, the sentence I'm typing is allowed to run off the screen for at least three times the width if the screen, instead of having the message box I'm typing into appear the same size as when just reading a post.

The text does mag up when I type so I can see it but it only shows about 6 words across the width if the screen. So if I want to read what I just wrote, If i unmag the message box to show the left and right extent of my message, the text zooms out to the point where I can't read it cause its so small.

Can you fix this do the text and message box for reading and typing are the same?
Thanks.

Try the tapatalk app in the App Store

It would be ideal if your site's formatting accommodated entries in the same display dimensions as reading posts - no?

I don't think the site is optimized for mobile use yet

Hucklebuck, can you post a screenshot or email me one with what you're talking about. I'll try and see if I can fix that issue. admin@

I'm typing here to do screenshots...
This is how the text box appears when
I first start typing...note the left side-
There's a line above & below which is
the left & upper border of the text box...
The next shot will show the zoom out
So you can see how tiny the box gets.
You can zoom out to see all text but you
Can't read anything cause too small

This is a test....I got tapatalk2 and wanna see if the text wraps without zooming in and out and it does.....so this mode is easy to work with.

Do you know if there is a way to get this app to interface with twitter such that when I tap a 2ahawaii tweet it opens in tapatalk rather than through twitter?  I ask cause reading 2ahawaii posts through twitter is how I use 2ahawaiis forum the most unless I'm creating a new post.

Funny, you didn't know the iPhone typing experience was rough until I mentioned it.

The more expensive tapatalk2 is pretty good so far if you wanna try that. At $3.99 its four times the cost of the average $.99 app so its relatively expensive but if you use 2ahawaii often it does streamline forum use and most importantly, its super fast. I find on my iPhone opening and closing threads is slow and when entering a post or reply the appearance of the words lags behind me Tapping the letters by quite a bit which makes for letters not appearing and lots of misspells. On tapatalk there is no such delay. It's as fast as texting on the iPhone and the text box you type into wraps text so you don't feel like your a schizophrenic psychotic exhibiting micrographia
