I just heard on NPR that the Presidents weekly address to the Nation, which happens on Saturday, will not be featuring President Obama. Instead, tomorrow it will be featuring a six-year old sibling of one of the victims from the Newtown tragedy. It seems insensitive and just plain wrong/disrespectful to exploit this family/siblings tragedy-IMO It's sad.

Yeah! Remember when the Democrats, every time Bush mentioned or was photographed with ANYTHING related to 9/11, they accused him of politicizing a national tragedy?
Well. the Democrats have apparently forgotten! It's horrible to make reference to a terrorist attack that killed thousands even in the context of our national security strategy. But it's fine to parade (USE) the parents and siblings of the dead Sandy Hook kids in front of cameras to influence us all to support the administration's gun control bills ... not because it's "common sense," but because we feel sorry for the slain children and their families. Emotion over logic!
Sorry, Prez. I feel just as bad about the dead kids in Sandy Hook Elementary, and all the other schools that suffered similar massacres, as you do. However, I still don't see how punishing legal, law-abiding gun owners is going to prevent the next shooting.
Common sense? President Obama should try that sometime. It might actually result in a success for once.

Gross exploitation of death and destruction. He will be the cause of more of it too with their lies and propaganda.

Fuck obama

Fuck obama

Funny...if I remember correctly, no "Assault Weapons" were used in that attack.
-
Fuck obama
And don't forget the grinning idiot, Biden. Both pieces of trash that will exploit tragedies to push a political goal.

Have never heard Obunga speak a complete sentence. Amazing what a fast finger on the remote can accomplish.

I can't even stand to look at the doofus.

The part that everyone forgets is he is half white. And brought up mostly white to communist/socialist white parent and grandparents. So to me his black side is just a play on himself. But damn he sure can speak muslim well.

Yep. Fuck Obama. Now that I think of it I felt better when Bush was our president. At least he had the balls to go to war

So sad he's from here

I do not think anyone out there does not feel for these parents and while nobody could even begin to imagine themselves in their own shoes it is also disappointing that the administration is using this event as leverage. None of the bills would have saved these kids nor will it save the thousands more people that will continue to be killed. The best thing we can do is accept the fact that this world is no longer the same one that it used to be and that we can only rely on ourselves. The government is only trying to take away our right to do just that.

Nailed it, Haoleb.
It always seems somewhat ironic to me that we all have the same objective in mind: security. We* have ~vastly~ different ideas for what would work to increase security, however. Condolences to the loved ones of victims everywhere, respect for the opinions of all.... and what part of "criminals do no follow laws" is so difficult to understand? How are gun sales bans and mag cap limits "common sense?"
(*By "we" I mean the people. I have a vastly different opinion of why political forces are trying to increase gun control.)
There ARE legislative actions we can take that will certainly make our kids and citizens safer: a federally protected right to CCW if you pass background checks and a training program, for example. It doesn't have to replace state CCW systems but if it superseded them there could be an armed civilian ANYWHERE. Including federal territory like airports and airplanes. Other benefits potentially include a reduction in crime overall allowing police departments to spend what money they have more productively.
How about an education bill that provides teachers and school staff the protected right to carry with a background check and if they attend (and pass) a training program? I bet the NRA would ~happily~ bend over backwards to provide that training for free or at low cost. That would certainly work to keep the potential school shooters less likely follow through.
Banning the sales of the most plentiful rifle in the country wouldn't do a thing. Neither would mag limits or "expanded" background checks. All those people she says have died would still have died even with all of the originally proposed laws in place.
The relatives of victims can be forgiven and understood for wanting to make the world a safer place in whatever way is offered to them. Its really too bad we can't have an a-political discussion of what really entails.

How this guy is still POTUS is beyond me! You know why, because half the zombies out there make comments like, "what a beautiful first family we have." Who gives a RIP what they look like!!?!?!?? Does public servant mean anything at all these days?
Lately both sides are lousy as far as I'm concerned but I'm MUCH MUCH more afraid of all these libtards versus the RINOs. A lot of of our freedoms came under fire and threat thanks to the patriot act and all the bloated government departments like homeland security and the TSA.
Half the problem is there is no term limits for these senators in office. Feinstein has been attacking the constitution since the 90s right??? How the hell is she continually voted in? Most senators are voting the way they are voting because they want to stay on the gravy train, get paid what they are getting paid and be entitled. We are taught to take part in voting but I'm losing faith. Unless someone like Rand Paul or Ted Cruz wins, the slippery slide downhill will continue.
As a popular letter stated, sending someone in a gun free zone is like sending your chicken to a coop and holding the door open for foxes.
