I've been looking at the Russian made POSP scopes and/or PK red dots for my AK, and wonder if anyone has an opinion on them. Thanks.

Make sure you get a manual in English.

i've heard the red dots are pretty good.
I have a PK-AS, which isnt a true red dot, but is made in Belarus, where many of these Russian optics are made. It's built like a tank. it's simple, and very sturdy.
as for the manual....yeah, mine's in Russian. which is fine for me, i can translate it. but if you ask around on AK forums, im sure people will tell you everything you need to know on how to use them.

I’ve got a POSP 4 x 24 (AK Mount) for my SGL31-84, seems to mount well with no real loss of zero. It did take some time to zero as I didn’t have the English manual (you can find one online)… Like the previous poster said, be sure to get the English manual ;)
The scope is intended for a 7.62 x 39 rifle but can be used with 5.45 as well, just use hold over or simply adjust the elevation turret (realizing the numbers won’t jive). I’ve been shooting it at 100yds with decent results; the magnification really helps my old eyes. At $185 it was well worth it IMHO, that and I like the Cyrillic :thumbsup: I’ll probably be at the range week after next if you’d like to check it out first hand.
