Title: "MY FAVORITES"
Post by: BananaClip on April 26, 2013, 10:11:56 PM
From pistols to rifles, bolt action to shotguns........

Piston driven to Direct Impingement.......

From semi auto to black powder, 22lr to 50bmg......

What floats your boat? What does it for you?

Long distance shooting, Skeet, Plinking.....?

Do you like something now that you didn't back then?

Or don't care for something you really liked before?

What's your FAVORITE caliber, pistol, rifle, shotgun or system....?

Whether you own it or not, what's your fav and why?

My favorite rifle...gotta be my AR platform (probably because I am in the Army and that is what I am used to)
Favorite pistol...either my Colt Gold Cup .45 that I used to shoot competition with or a browning hi-power.
just purchased a Glock 22, we'll see once I get it on the range
Favorite Shotgun...I used to have this sweet Savage 20/22 mag over and under when I was a kid, man I loved that gun

I LOVE shooting competition with a handgun (though it has been years). Love the challenge of long range shooting. Perfecting the art as we say! Of course you gotta use a  Remington 700 with a  Leupold Ultra M3A 10×42mm fixed-power scope. I love the challenge (eventhough, I liked it better before when ammo wasn't so damn expensive) of shooting until you are putting all rounds inside an 1.5" circle. Since I don't have my pistol yet, obviously I am not there yet...but I will be!

SW 3913-9mm-stainless/aluminum-tritium Novak sights

Why?
Small, slim-lightweight, relatively inexpensive, 10 rounds, accurate, and most likely to be used in self defense.

I usually shoot a 1911 45 auto at the range, but my favorite gun is the one I am most likely to have when it is needed.

I like firearms for their iconic reasons and cool factor, protection probably comes last.....

I love the historical iconic AK... That comes in first for me.....

Next would be the FN FAL also for its history and iconic value.....

For pistols, hands down Glock 22 or just Glock in general....

I love the 1911 for the history and looks... Its a "Mans" handgun.... ;D

As far as caliber, I like the 7.62x39 because of availability and price....

My other fav caliber has got to go to the 22lr, also for price.....

I kinda also like the kick of the 7.62x54r... Big round low cost.....

I dont have a Saiga12....still.....but that would be my semi shotgun of choice....

If we could, any SBR would be awesome! Preferably a Krinkov....

Bulgarian Krink with some red iodine colored wood furniture and a Plum bakelite pistol grip...

Seasoned with a 4piece flash hider, 45rd bakelite mag topped off with 45rds of 5.45x39 to the brim....

I've always had a thing for the m1 garand.  Beautiful, historical, American made weapon that helped us win the war. Also that 30-06 and ping!
The 1911 is also is the same and has been used by us for over 100 years.  Are there better choices nowadays? Yes but id still take one to war
The ar platform is great and I think im getting into ak's too

Henry 22lr Frontier Model is my favorite.  I'm usually shooting on the pistol side once a week, either 1911, 2011, or one of my M&Ps.  In general, I prefer handgun shooting over rifle, but something about that Henry lever-action rifle is hard to beat.  The Henry was a Father's Day present from my wife and kids, perhaps that has something to do with it, but still, even if I had bought it myself, I'm pretty sure it would still be the most fun to shoot.  Sure, maybe it's not as blinged as my race gun, or make as big holes as my .45 1911, and it's no where near as, well..., semi-automatic as my AR, but for the sheer fun of plinking, it pretty much can't be beat.

Maybe not my favorite gun that I own, But by far the most fun to shoot would be the 12 gauge. Not much compares to the power and excitement of just going out there to annihilate some targets

Fav Revolver- SW M29 6" Blue a la Dirty Harry

Fav 22- Winchester Model  52 a,b,c,d because I used one in high school
Fav BB gun- Daisy Red Rider, because my kids love it
