For you AK lovers :shaka:
-
I want windowed ones
-
Its about time they started making akn mags! Well see how they are! If I read right somewhere they're coming out late summer! :worship:
-
Wait for the steel reinforced ones. Otherwise I am :shake:
-
Hopefully something that can compete with circle 10's
-
Why they making AK mags? They cant even keep up with their AR mags which are months behind. Release date late summer so we will see it late fall?
-
Oh, please make this happen, Magpul. The Tapcos are decent, and the Bulgarian Circle 10s are pretty expensive, so let's see if Magpul can produce a reasonably priced mag with their trademark reliability.

A little bit of a thread revival.
Just curious what is the significance of the link, is it just to state that magpul makes AK mags or am I missing something.

Just wanted to let our fellow members know...
These are the new ones with steel reinforced spine and locking lugs that are just being released.
They are on preorder, and I know members were looking for AK mags so I wanted to share the info.
Edit: sorry, re-read my post and kinda sounded shitty.
Oh okay I see now thanks it helped when I hit the "view more" in the product details section. It's all good about your post and what you wrote pre edit.

Finally.
The ones to get are finally released.....
$8 under the cheapest price Ive seen Bulgarian circle 10 waffle mags. $18 under today's going rates.
If it's just as good, waffle mag prices should come down.
If it's almost as good, waffle mag prices should still come down.

Circle 10 "waffle mags" will never come down in price.
Hopefully though, these new magpuls feed reliably, even under heavy/dirty use.
I'm a huge fan of circle 10 mags in my AK's and honestly believe they're the best mags made for most AK's.
I can't wait to get my hands on one of these new Magpuls to run them hard.

Used my new magpul ak mag the last time I went to the Koko head. Jammed on me 2-3 times in probably about 40-60 rounds. My arsenal has NEVER jammed with any other mag I've used. This is just with KHSC 5 round slow shooting too. I was extremely disappointed.
-
KK, please brutalize the new AK mags and post a review.
I, for one, would greatly appreciate your insight! :shaka:
KK, been a while since you did a review.
I actually been surfing some older threads of different things you reviewed.

Is this the original AK magpul or the new one with steel reinforced lug?

The Gen M3 ones just started shipping to dealers within the last few days and are the ones with steel lugs. And I only have a few hundred through my Arsenal but they ran perfect.
-
Just ran 60 rounds thru my 2 pmags today. No problems. Maybe they broke in? I still wouldn't trust then with my life. Gonna try the new ones
-
AK PMags would be nice, but I'm REALLY hoping someone can bring in some Svetogor Defense mags!!!

These cats just refurbish surplus polymer (Circle 10, Circle 21, etc) and commercial polymer (Tapco, etc) mags to add windows, then restamp them, correct?
Yep, I far as I can tell. Haven't seen them use Tapco stuff, just stuff I'm guessing they source locally (Ukraine) and from old Russian stores... Seen a bunch of Tula & Izhmash conversions as well. Haven't come across a US vendor, kinda doubt that'll happen but who knows. Doesn't look that hard to do so maybe some enterprising 2A member could have a go at it locally, maybe I'll try with an old ((10)) :shaka:

Oh my, they are using Tapco! All those great eastern block mags & they still use the clunkers. Shoot, wonder if they're licensed mods???
I think I have a couple of slab-side Tapco's I'd be more than willing to cut into. Will see if our sheet metal shop will water jet a few cuts for me ;)
