Yesterday was unusually empty a the range and a buddy & I were speculating that it was due to the ammo shortage. Is it?

I theorize a combination of factors:
1- Blustery weather
2- Mayday or Cinco de Mayo celebrations just pooped everybody out.
3- Graduation season is here.
4- Ammo and component shortage

Are you reffering to the rifle side?
Could be the ongoing roof repairs, coupled with the doubtful weather that day. :(

I was there yesterday as well. And I pretty much agree with Oldfart except I think the ammo shortage is the third largest reason with the rifle range repairs coming in fourth. It was actually quite dead at the range yesterday and by 1:00pm I don't think even half of the available benches were taken. My buddy and I arrived before 10am and there were plenty benches available at that time. For the most part I think the rain kept most people away even though it didn't rain much at the range yesterday.

The silhouette side was PACKED! Went to the rifle side later and it was less crowded!

I think it's more about being grad season, end of school, etc.

Saving up money and working as much as possible in anticipation of hard times ahead. Hope it blows over, but better safe than sorry. That's why I haven't been going lately. :(

I can go shooting more if I want, but I just dont wanna shoot too much without being able to replace it (at a good price). I'll usually just pack a set amount to limit myself in these times. At least ammo is starting to come back, slowly, but its coming.

Oh the places that deals are done...hahahaha! Do you ever feel like the kid who sneaks out to the smoking tree at school when you are doing these?

I can go shooting more if I want, but I just dont wanna shoot too much without being able to replace it (at a good price). I'll usually just pack a set amount to limit myself in these times. At least ammo is starting to come back, slowly, but its coming.
I have a crap load of stuff to shoot, but for me it's work and other interests.......and sloth.........that are keeping me from shooting more.
