Created this poll to get a better idea of which courses 2a members are interested in, you can choose more than one course.

You know you can add a poll through the forums right?

Just noticed the poll button after I created the post - will use the forum poll next time :D :shaka:

Magpul courses = cool.
I was fortunate attend a TravisHaley course in Waikiki awhile back.

Price of ammo is going down while availability is going up a good sign. Although Magpul will probably restore their original ammunition requirements if the prices go down, so overall price of the course should still be the same but more shooting fun. Whats the latest and greatest on this.

The Designated Marksman Course would be ideal. :geekdanc:

Any course with Chris and Travis would be awesome. :shaka:

Chris and Travis are no longer with Magpul Dynamics but new instructors and courses are still awesome :shaka:

i know they got there own things going now, but Steve Fisher is also another bad dude!
-
the proposed ayoob course is going to compete for the same people and $$$
i suggest whoever is working on this to nail down some details before we get too much further into the summer or just table the idea
personally, i really want this to happen, but having it fail for lack of attendance would reflect even worse on our shooting community
and would complicate other opportunities in the future

Im still in direct contact with Jon Canipe the director of carbine operations for Magpul Dynamics and looks like like possible dates might be in late January or early February 2014. Looks like it will be carbine 1 and handgun 1 both 3 day courses and they will need at least 25 students for each class.
Will be updating with more info as soon as I hear back from Magpul.

mahalo jonjon
please keep us updated
it's exciting that the national people are coming out, but i still fear the competition for people's time and dollars

there's another thread somewhere
on big island in hilo
Where would such a course be held?

Possibly at the Glenwood range in Hilo, the owner is a member on this forum and that is where Kahuku Practical Pistol Shooters Club(KPPSC) hold their monthly matches. Finding a host range on Oahu would be ideal for most forum members but haven't had any luck finding one.

25 students is alot to expect for a class that will cost over $1,500 due to the high round count. Should aim for 40 students to get on board, cause I'm betting many will drop out.

The shooters on the Big Island will really get a deal on this if it happens there, only travel cost will be gas for them. Once the date is set deposits will have to be collected in advance to guarantee enrollment. If the minimum is not met Magpul will cancel the class so I really hope there is enough interest.

I am down for a precision rifle or DMR class. To me the cost is well worth it. I suspect if Magpul advertises it as well there might be a lot of interest from those in more frigid climates looking for an excuse for a tropical vacation. :shake:
