Title: Remington 770
Post by: bushmasta55 on November 25, 2010, 05:20:25 PM
Anyone have or once owned a Remington 770? Good or bad reviews?  Does it suffer the same problems that the 700 was having?

I don't have one, nor have I ever tried one, but I hear everyone saying to stay away from the 770. Most are recommending the Stevens 200, Savage Edge, Marlin XL7/XS7 for inexpensive rifles. I know you can get the Savage Edge at Sports Authority but I don't know where you can find the others.

I had a 710, well I still have it cuz it aint worth selling, that's the old model 770, and its decent. Definitely worth the 200 bucks I paid for it.

My cousin hunts with it, and its accurate enough for pigs, but I wouldn't expect to take any marksmanship awards with it.
If your looking for a bush gun on the cheap, or a noob gun for a beginning hunter, its worth it. I think SA has em for 250 now.

I always heard that the Remmy 700 series were top-of-the-line for out-of-the-box affordable accuracy.
