Anyone try the skinner rim fire sight for the Henry lever action? Do you have to change the front sight too due to the higher elevation of the rear peep sight?

They look promising if they'll fit. I don't care for the sights on the standard henry levers, the .22 model at least. The sights on the octagon are a great improvement, now if only I could find one.

I put fiber optic sights on my Henry. The back was easy; just slide it into the dovetail. The front took some fiddling, since the blade is part of the (plastic) barrel band. I cut the front sight off and cut a dovetail (carefully) in the barrel band with an X-Acto knife. I still prefer a peep to a notch and post, but the Henry gets banged around too much to put a (fragile) peep on the tang, besides the fact that a Marples rear sight costs almost as much as the basic rifle.
