Title: Aimpoints
Post by: gsmgc on June 29, 2013, 11:47:48 AM
Hey gang,

Regarding Aimpoints; of the two which one would you prefer, Pro or H1?
This would be for a 14.5 mid length AR.

Thanks

I also have the trijicon RMR dual illumination 13moa triangle. I love it. Some people complain that it's not bright enough but they don't realize that it's like that so you can still see your target. It's meant to be used with both eyes open. I have a trijicon acog reflex too. It's either 4 or 6 MOA. It's also a good choice. I use the pro on my AR and  the RMR on my 870.

I am thinking of running a RMR type optic on an off set mount for my scoped 6.8.

Thanks for the insight.

I vote both. It really comes down to what size and weight you want. The t1 is very light and takes us less space on the rail and visually as well.  I have a pro on one of my ar's but want a t1 on my next

The weight savings is why I am looking at the H-1.

I don't foresee the need for NV capabilities, nor will I be punching out of a sub anytime soon, but then again.

What else would be the difference between the T vs. the H?

T-1 has nightvision.  H-1 doesn't and has a different huge aimpoint logo on the side

I like the size and weight of the micro sights. Also there is plenty of mounts and mounting options available for it.

Love the PRO on my AR or AK.

For the AK, the micro is the only red dot you want.

For the AR, either one works just as well.

the H has 12 daylight settings, the T has only 8 daylight, but had 4 NV.
the T is made of stronger housing material, stronger finish, and can withstand a greater range of temperatures.

if price is a factor, it is hard to beat the value of the PRO.  It comes with lens covers and an AR mount.

Okay, I could not decide.
Especially with all these sales popping up.
Soooo, I ordered a Pro and a T-1 2MOA.

Thanks everyone for all of your input.
Happy 4th.

I just got the DD mount for now.
Will see how it works out. I wasn't sure if I needed a qd mount for this particular set up.

I finished up my two 14.5 ARs utilizing the Aimpoit PRO & the T-1.

Although both are really good RD sights, I must say that I like the T-1 better.

It is way smaller and lighter. Although more expensive, I feel it is worth it.

A question for those that run the T-1/H-1;
Do you lock tight those 4 little mounting screws?

Everyone's participation and insight has been truly appreciated.

I pretty much blue loctite all that sort of stuff.  Cheap and easy insurance.

Hey, gsmhc, how much were you able to pick up the T1 on sale?  Thanks.

Thanks, if I decide to keep that mount, I'll add some blue Loctite.

"Sound wave", I got the T-1 (minus mount) and the PRO from www.armsunlimited.com (http://www.armsunlimited.com).

You can still get the T-1 for about $610 w/ free shipping if you use the coupon code on the home page ("aimlow").

If you want a QD mount, I don't think you can beat the combo price at LaRue Tactical.
