unless you're in a rush, wait it out for SA's 20% off coupon and pick up the Vanguard 561. got mines a few weeks ago and have no complaints about it. I could see 22 bullet holes at 100 yds.

I got a Jason spotting scope I'd part with if you was interested. Pm me for the details.

This is the best spotting scope ever. Take pictures and record all your shots. And never bend over to look into a scope again.
-
Does anyone know where/how to get those single pole setups that clamp onto the bench? Way more stable and secure vs. little tripod that usually come with the scopes.

Lol but having a phone on it is rather easier than the iPad it's too bulky and wind plays a factor

I bought a oben table top tripid. Its a small compact one, looks like a flimsey one but its heavy metal, has a wide base so its really secure. Wind does not affect me. Even with my phone on the scope the pictures does not shake.

Where did you get that adapter/case for the scope?

I made it. Took my scope to home depot and started test fitting a bunch of random stuff to hold my phon up to the scope. I bought the cheapest crappiest scope i could find on ebay. $20 from china. And a good wide base tripod so it wont shake in the wind. It dont matter how crappy the scope is because the camera on your phone will focus in on the target. Clear as day. And when your target gets full of holes its hard to tell where your shooting so i start recording my shots then play them back so i can see exactly where im shooting. Then i text a picture and text it to my friend to rub it in when i hit bulls eyes. Lol

So your phones not connected to the scope, the camera is just lined up/looking through the eye piece?

Nice and secure, but the way the benches at Koko Head are, you can get kind of cramped between the scope stand and the opposite side of the benchtop.
Make sure you take an Allen wrench.

This thing costs $40 more than my scope, soft case, hard case, included flimsy tripod, and add-on tabletop tripod!
Not saying that's a bad thing....

Exactly what I need! Buy once cry once? haha ;)
Looks like it'll work for other things too.

In my exp. cheap scopes will get you nowhere. A scope stays with your shooting hobby for awhile. I bought a Simmons from Sports Authority awhile back and was kidding myself that I was satisfied for $60. Sold it at a pawn shop for $20.

My scope is a cheapie Tasco 90x I got at S.A. SF on holiday close out for $19! How could not buy it, right? It works ok I can see people de-boarding the shuttle boat for the Arizona Memorial and walking around down there :) Hope to get a better one eventually. But this type of stand first - for prone, sitting as well as standing would be very cool.
Thanks for the tips so far!
