All Guns) You have access to everything you own...(maybe your just finished cleaning them) Which one and why ?

Remember this is at home.

General Discussion / does anybody knows anything about this
« on: November 03, 2020, 06:02:33 PM »
saw a you tube video where a guy put a 22 pellet gun pellet in his 22 rifle and pushed a nail gun 22 blank in behind it. he got very fast ft. per second and accuracy at 25 yards. i cant understand why the pellet didnt strip out and the nail gun cartridge didnt hurt the gun as it is so powerful. anybody ever see anyone do this? is it dangerous? seems to me it would be but what do i know?

Reloading / CCI 34 Primers and no FF firing pin
« on: November 02, 2020, 09:02:31 PM »
I stumbled upon a few of these primers recently. Is there any reason not to use them like any other LR Magnum primer when shooting through a bolt gun without a free floating firing pin? I can't think of any.

Unless others have seen it happen, I have a tough time thinking my rifle's firing pin won't hit the primer hard enough to set it off.

This would be a new load developed from scratch, so the powder reduction to compensate for the magnum primer would be built in.

Thanks.

Firearms and Accessories / 3- gun barrel lenght
« on: October 31, 2020, 02:48:00 AM »
Hi all!
done a lot of reading but nothing definitive. heard of people shooting 18" - 30" barrels. i thought i had settled on a 24" for my benelli m2. currently it has a 28".

then i start reading about shorter barrels not having the velocity to knock down targets farther out so a longer barrel is better because it has higher velocity and punch. (magazine size comes into question later w/ regards for regulations for certain classes?)

I don't want to go to short but not keep it too long, so i guess i guess if i average out the responses i've heard 24" and 26" are the most popular (at the moment).

this is my first shotgun so i'm not really sure what to expect. i want manuverabilty but also the force to reach out and know down metal targets w/ birdshot. wondering if i should just enter a few competitions first and see how it feels(?)

i read that Taran Butler was moved into "open" class b/c his magazine tube was too long.....but i don't know what his barrel length., more interested in his barrel than his tube (if anyone knows?) something about how many rounds you can have loaded before the buzzer (8+1 or 9+1, but not the over all capacity)...

anyhow, if you have any experience and advice i'd like to hear it. don't want to throw away $500 for each new barrel just to get it right. that gets expensive and takes $$ away from customizing it.

thanks!
