Good experience with OGC. They’re aware of the waits on permits and will hold your firearm for a good period of time. I believe the ffl fee was $41 and some change

Will I run into a problem if I don’t have a primary care physician specifically listed with my health care provider?

General Discussion / What to expect at the range
« on: December 15, 2020, 07:13:06 AM »
Hey guys new gun owner here. Looking to get some handgun range time in at koko head, and would appreciate any guidance that goes along with that. I.E. do I need to bring my own target, loading 5 rounds, etc? This might be useful to other new owners as well. Mahalo..all the knowledge here is much appreciated.  :shaka:

Any other range options on Oahu if you guys recommend any as well

General Discussion / Re: About registering a firearm..

Same rules for registration.  However, since you need a Permit to Acquire for each handgun purchased, you have longer to wait:  make a reservation for the permit/s, apply, wait 2 weeks, acquire the handgun/s, make an appointment, register.

You can make the registration reservation whenever you can get an appointment after the 2 week wait, so no need to wait before trying to make the second reservation.  All up to when open times are available.

Good to know, thanks for the info. Got the permit appointment set up, step one  :shaka:

Possible dumb question, but does this apply to handguns as well? (OP mentioned rifle)

Just to confirm, that time requirements are waived as long as I can schedule an appointment to register my handgun. Thanks in advance!

Firearms and Accessories / New gun owner mag capacity question
« on: December 01, 2020, 01:01:53 PM »
I’m looking to purchase my first handgun, and had a question about Hawaii’s laws on mag capacity. I’m looking for a Glock 17, is it possible to buy one when the mag capacity is 17+1? What are my options ?
