General Discussion / Re: Rust specks on Glock Slide
« on: October 10, 2015, 07:15:03 PM »
If the rust doesn't come off, glock has pretty good customer service and warranty.  Newer glocks don't have the same finish as the older ones and a lot of people have rust issues with them.  My slide started to rust by the ejection port and slide serrations with very little use.  It was also stored in a dehumidified safe. I sent it in and glock replaced the whole pistol no charge.

The answer may be buried in the statues somewhere, but clearly asked:  If my wife were to use one of the guns registered to me inside out house for defense, is that a major problem?  Suppose if I am home, not an issue at all, but if I were away?

I know, the easy thing would be to get them all registered to both of us, which she is amenable to.  Luckily she has her NRA cert and is not averse to being fingerprinted and all.

As long as it was determined to be justifiable self defense, who the gun is registered to doesn't matter.  There is a section in the HRS that allows firearms to be loaned to others for a short period of time as long as they are not prohibited from possessing them.

Firearms and Accessories / Re: Safes at Costco

Thought I'd share this video...seems like a old sales commercial for American security safes, but it also shows how vulnerable a safe can be on its back.  Make sure you bolt your safe down whatever type/brand you buy.

I'm sure some of the blame can fall on the fact NYPD makes their officers to carry DAO pistols or glocks with the NY2 trigger (11lbs)... If the department expects their officers to have a better hit percentage during shootings, they should give them pistols that the average person can actually accurately fire.  11lb trigger on a Glock is just plain retarded .

You were right.  Showed up at 0840 and only had to wait 10min for a bench to open up.

If you purchased your rifle on Arms List as the picture suggests, I would be more worried about the seller flat out scamming you, than your package being lost in the mail.   Arms list is infested with scammers .

General Discussion / Wait list at kokohead rifle range.
« on: September 14, 2013, 08:04:45 PM »
Planning on hitting the range tomorrow and just wondering on how crazy the wait list have been. . It's been a while since I last been to kokohead, how early do you have to arrive at the range to get a bench at opening without waiting forever.?    Last time I went I waited 2.5 hours to get a bench.

I really like Surf's channel, but he had to cancel it.

+1...Surf had some of the better firearm related videos on youtube.  Very informative.

You sure?

Donno if its a joke, or if he bought it at wally world for real...

They later modified it to have a velocity adjuster and used it to shoot firststrike paintballs

I highly doubt that guy just walked into a walmart and bought a FN303 less lethal in the paintball section.
